A man recently contacted me asking for a laser show for his event.
I told him:
“For a professional show with two lasers, the price is 20,000 EGP.”
He replied immediately:
“20,000?! That’s crazy. I was thinking more like 5,000.”
So I asked him a simple question:
“Why 5,000?”
He said:
“Because it’s just a couple of lasers… you turn them on and that’s it, right?”
I said:
“Perfect. Then you should do it yourself for 5,000.”
He laughed and said:
“But I don’t know how to program lasers.”
“No problem,” I told him.
“I can teach you how to do it for 5,000 EGP. Then you’ll save 15,000 next time.”
He liked the idea.
So I told him what he needed to prepare:
Two professional lasers.
Control software.
Safety systems.
A high-performance computer.
Network control.
Stands, cables, power distribution.
Programming time.
Rehearsal time.
He stopped me and said:
“I don’t have any of that.”
I said:
“That’s okay. I can rent you everything for 5,000.”
He agreed again.
Then I said:
“Great. We start Tuesday at 8 AM. Laser shows require time to set up, program and test.”
He paused.
“8 AM? Tuesday? I have work…”
I explained that creating a proper laser show takes planning, programming, safety checks and rehearsals.
After a moment he looked at me and said:
“Okay… I understand now.”
“Take the 20,000 EGP.”
“Even if you taught me, I still wouldn’t be able to deliver the result you do.”
Exactly.
Because when people hire a professional laser show, they are not paying for turning on lasers.
They are paying for:
Years of experience.
Thousands of hours of learning.
Professional equipment worth a fortune.
Creative show programming.
Technical knowledge and safety.
Reliability when the event matters.
Of course this conversation is imaginary.
But the lesson is real.
People often see the lights.
They don’t see the years behind them.

Anyone can buy a laser.
Not everyone can create a laser show.
