This cake started with a vision from the bride, that was later sketched in my journal when I was on a plane back at midnight. But the sketches were not only creative direction with this project. Every tier, column and proportion was carefully planned, with calculations guiding its balance and structure. I wanted the cake to become an elegant statement that was also timeless deriving from the idea of multi tiered vintage cakes. With a study in precision, the cake was then finished with the romance of swans and intricate piping. 🤍

I’ve always been amazed by the way that birds build their nest to carry their babies safely into life. As I dug deeper I realized in many bird species the male and female build their nest together. This cake was made for the start of this couple’s journey. A symbol of building a life together. Softly hand molded sugar petals carry the birds all around the cake weaving them into this beautiful bird meadow.
