SATURDAY at MCMC!

This Saturday 10 Oct at MCMC, we’re very happy to welcome two great international DJs:

🕶️ João Tenreiro (PT) 🇵🇹
🕶️ James Pogson (UK) 🇬🇧

From Portuguese soul nights and years of collecting, to re-releases, artist interviews and vinyl archaeology, they are all about the music, the records and the stories behind them.

JOÃO TENREIRO
tenreiro has been digging records for over a decade, with a musical journey that has taken him from Chicago, New Jersey and Detroit house music to Latin and African sounds, before eventually becoming deeply immersed in soul 45s.

Originally playing weekly in clubs across Portugal, João later hosted monthly nights in Lisbon and Porto, exploring everything from world music to obscure African grooves. Over the past five to six years, his focus has shifted almost entirely towards soul.

His love for soul goes back much further. Growing up, João was heavily influenced by his father, a lifelong record collector who compiled records for his own Dancin’ Days nights. Those compilations became part of João’s everyday soundtrack and helped shape the way he listens and digs today ♥️

JAMES POGSON

is a UK-based DJ, record label founder and vinyl archivist with a deep-rooted love for oldies, funk and rare soul.

Through his labels and James has developed a reputation for carefully curated re-releases and compilations that bring overlooked musical stories back into focus. He also hosts Key To Our Love, a bi-monthly show on ROVR Radio dedicated to deep cuts, forgotten artists and the stories behind the records.

James regularly travels to California to meet and interview the original artists behind his releases, connecting the history of the music 🫶

Come down to have a drink with us and see what João and James will be serving up on the turntables.

Peeps from will welcome them to the decks⏰

Come early for the deep rare ballads🎶😲
