I really wish more of the hospitality sector would listen to what people want…

85 percent of people who consume alc-free products, also drink alcohol (not sure where that number came from but I can understand it!). It’s not a case of only Gen Z‘ers not wanting to drink, people of all ages are opting into swapping between alcohol but finding these products in cafes, bars and restaurants is not easy - yet hospitality is crying out to at people aren’t spending money like they used to 🤔

These are just a few of the really good options I found at the Freyheit Festival in Munich ten days ago (and a few of them I bought as well 🤩)

Do you know any?

It’s an uncomfortable truth - Passion isn’t a business strategy - in any sector. When people are looking for an alternative to alcohol, and looking to the people who they trust to find the good stuff, the best thing they can do is to find it…

And the best place to do that is at the in Munich’s Pineapple Park next weekend.

I went last year and found a whole new world of alcohol free products I would have never come across. This means that now when people in my circle look to me for alc-free recommendations, I have an idea or two.

The fair is open on Sunday, B2C focus (11-7pm) and Monday for wine professionals and gastronomy. I have discount codes for both days so if you want one, drop me a comment and I’ll send it through.

Excuse the fluff up in the middle of the text 🫣. Just to prove it’s real 😜

Wine industry, alcohol-free beverages.

I need your help 🤩

I need to find the places in and around Munich that serve or sell Chianti Classico. Usually they have the Black rooster symbol on them..

If you know a place please drop me a comment and I’ll go and check them out 🤩.

Grazie 🙏

The most surprising thing about this cute restaurant I found in Saint Die des Vosges this weekend (Besides the roasted carrot and rhubarb combo 😋)?

Their alc-free drinks list 🤩.

No Fanta or coke in sight, they’d chosen alc-free IPA, kombucha and their own ice tea meaning that after a glass, our driver didn’t have to sit drinking water. Pretty avanti for a French restaurant.

I started harping on about alc-free choices last year after visiting the and discovering a whole range of alc-free drinks that could pair well with food. There’s a tonne of reasons why someone wouldn’t want to drink wine all through their meal and having something on the menu ensures restauranteurs don’t have to miss out on selling them something tasty. Sounds like a win-win to me. 😋

The great news is that the Festival is being held again this month :

Sunday 26th July - B2C focus with concerts, DJs and over 25 producers of alc-free drinks
Monday 27th July - B2B day with panels, masterclasses and the same variety of drinks to explore.

If you’re in Munich and want to come, I have a limited number of reduced tickets available, drop me Sunday or Monday below and I’ll send you a message with the code 😜

It’ll be a hard week to top…

Last week started with , the marketing conference for small businesses which was awesome - even virtually. So many great speakers that left me with tens of pages of notes and a head full of ideas I’m looking forward to share with my coaching group tomorrow night 🤩

Thursday was an evening at with a dear friend and some of his wine-loving besties to enjoy some of the most expensive wines I’ve tasted. Yes, they were worth the price tag 🤩

Friday I hosted a wine tasting for a lovely group of Gen Z’ers. I really enjoy these tastings, I keep it simple, very simple and after a glass or two you get all the questions they’re scared to ask which I love answering. I’d like to think they leave feeling a little more comfy with wine 🤩.

Saturday started back on the bouldering wall but finished early with a blister on my hand and a twisted knee for the hubby 🫣. Messed up the plans for the rest of the day but luckily he managed to hobble to .pez for a really delicious meal. Great Peruvian food, gorgeous decor. We’ll be back.

Sunday we headed over to Pineapple Park to the F1 exhibition and spent a couple of hours immersed in the history and technology of what used to be my favourite sport. Particularly impressive was the remains of Grosjean’s car that he managed to get out of alive. Next on the to-do list, a family trip to the go-karting track. Last time I was on it I thrashed my hubby and all his work mates. They were surprised to say the least 😂.

The best thing about living in Bavaria? For me it’s Pfingstferien 😍. Two weeks to enjoy the start of summer, switch off, relax and come back with energy to blast through to August…

Between trekking with lamas and alpacas, hiking down to the Tibetan bridge (way harder than they say 😂) visiting winery, enjoying a new-to-us resto, experimenting with the Kamado (the salmon and cauliflower were amazing, but I’m sure our neighbours aren’t so happy with all the smoke!), spending lots of quality time with family, I also had time to…

…. host the first session of The Momentum Circle which ended with exclamations of „I feel lighter and clearer on where my business is going“ 🤩🤩🤩

…. firm up a big project for the autumn involving wine shops, restaurants, wine bars and wine drinkers. Too often we concentrate on just the buyers and importers - we need to also remind drinkers why they should be drinking wine 🍷 so I’m super excited about this.

…. agree some promo work in another project I’m super excited about… more about that very soon.

Pfingstferien weeks rock - I totally get why Bavaria refuses to give them up 😜

A week ago I asked the question - what happens after the coffee?...
...After the business breakfast when you're sitting in front of your laptop staring at your sales page wondering why it's not bringing in sales, or one one of those mornings when you've got three ideas and no clue which one to actually go with.

That's the bit I struggled with when I was first starting out fifteen years ago. And after so many years of helping create an active community of female entrepreneurs in Munich, I know that those struggles are real and still keep so many women up at night. So I created something to take them away.

This is The Momentum Circle.

A small group for solopreneurs who already have an offer and a couple of clients, but are ready to grow their baby into a real business — and are really done trying to figure it all out alone.

Over four months, we'll work through everything that's actually keeping you stuck: pricing, offer design, visibility, consistency, client retention — and whatever else comes up. Two 90-minute live sessions per month, a private community, and access to me when you need it between calls.
We're talking small group, real focus on your own business - not just theory. You're not one in a crowd.

This is a beta round — which means the price is significantly reduced, and the people who join will help shape what this becomes. We'll get started in the week of 18th May..

As it's a beta version, I'm not pouring a tonne of energy in elaborate sales pages or funnels. I'll save my energy for putting together that's really useful for the people who decide to join. If you have a clear business concept and a couple of clients and are looking for some structure, clarity and accountability to get your business moving, this is for you.

Here's what one client had to say about working with me recently:
"In a few days I had 86 new subscribers and 2 new requests to work 1:1 with me. Your support got me out of analysis paralysis."
If this sounds like something you need, DM me and I'll send you the details. 👇

In July 2015, I was sitting on my parents' sofa cuddling my newborn when I received an email request from my website from a Lebanese winery owner asking me to organise an event for him to develop contacts on the Munich market.

Did I feel like that I was something I could do? Absolutely not. But I said yes anyway and a decade later it’s become a fixed appointment in the calendar of my community of winelovers in Munich.

What started as a dinner with wine buyers and writers, soon morphed into a dinner for wine lovers who love discovering something new from a familiar face. Each year we visit a different restaurant, the lineup of wines changes slightly but the feel remains the same : a room full of people who love wine and a wine producer who loves people.

It’s an easy format for producers that realise that the magic lies in creating relationships with the wine drinkers. They’re the ones that’ll mention your name to their favourite wine shop, look for your labels when they hear your region, tell you what they really think of the wines and order cases to share with their friends at the end of the evening. There’s no hard sell. No minutiae into the technical aspects. The aim is to put stories and people first. Let people have fun and leave with a case full of wine from a memorable evening out.

In 2015 we were shouting about their IWC gold for the Family Reserve 2008, desperately trying to get people interested in Lebanese wine. Ten years on, people know who they are and look forward to dates like this.

If you don’t yet know them and are in Munich next Sunday 10th May, drop me a comment and I’ll send you the link. Last tickets are available.

Heading home from a couple of intense days at Vinitaly.

It might be a moment of crisis but the producers who have clear branding, values and excellent wines are rising to the challenge because their wines are about the now and not about their story.

If you need a hand working out your messaging and what you need to be talking about, drop me a DM and let’s have chat whilst I’m in my quieter months 😁
