FIELD LOG – Casualty report, DEATH NOTICE
FOB 19 – Lost Vegas
Dates Unknown
Sustained multiple injuries to C.R.O.W.S. personnel and local allies. Injuries were non-life threatening. Field medicine was successfully applied.
1 Federation Death Confirmed:
RAVEN SIX
Heavy Gunner / Chemist
11th C.R.O.W.S. – Alpha Team
F.S. U.S.S. Kidd (Sunk)
During a cultural event for the local community at FOB 19, a surprise attack by a Deathclaw occurred. The attack blocked access to the bunker and endangered fleeing civilians.
Raven Six willingly placed himself in harm’s way to distract the Deathclaw and draw it away from civilians and Federation personnel, allowing the Wing time to mount heavy weapons and organize a defense.
During the engagement, Raven Six sustained severe injuries before the Deathclaw was terminated.
Initial Injuries Sustained:
Small lacerations to face, legs, and arms
Deep puncture wound to upper left arm
Severe abdominal laceration resulting in massive blood loss and intestinal exposure
Field medicine was applied immediately and emergency surgery was conducted at the local hospital (HART).
Medical losses included:
Spleen
Approximately 25% of liver
Approximately 25 cm of large intestine
Estimated blood loss: 4–5 pints
Raven Six was placed on modified duty during recovery.
The following night, FOB 19 came under attack by Crawlers, estimated enemy strength 10–20 hostile entities.
Despite medical condition and standing recovery orders, Raven Six moved to the rear defensive line to assist in civilian evacuation and provide security for bunker operations.
Raven Six was attacked by two Crawlers. One hostile was neutralized with his weapon before the second hostile tackled him to the ground. Unable to effectively operate his weapon system due to prior injuries, Raven Six killed the hostile with his bare hands.
Secondary Injuries Sustained:
Surgical wounds reopened
Severe blood loss
Severe lacerations and bite wounds to neck
Jugular vein damage
Field medicine was again applied and transport to hospital was planned.
Transport operations were halted due to renewed Crawler assaults on FOB 19.
A defensive line was established within FOB 19 while evacuation efforts continued.
At this time Raven Six ceased medical treatment, approached me directly, and requested permission to “climb the Top Sail.”
A short discussion was conducted. Raven Six acknowledged his condition and stated he would not survive transport without risking the lives of civilians and Federation personnel attempting evacuation.
Permission was granted.
Raven Six equipped two M18 mines to his person, holding both pull cords in hand. He intentionally moved to a position where the remaining Crawlers would converge on him.
As hostile entities swarmed his position and forced him to the ground, Raven Six spoke his final words:
“I kill what goes boom in the night. F**k your canoe.”
Raven Six then bit into the neck of one hostile before detonating both mines.
All hostile entities in the immediate area were neutralized.
Raven Six was killed instantly in the blast.
I personally confirmed death.
His remains were recovered and draped in the Federation flag for a 24-hour viewing in accordance with Federation burial regulations.
Remains were interred at the local graveyard.
