Sjajan odziv 24. i 25. maja – kakav uzbudljiv početak! Hvala svima koji su došli! Smejali smo se, plakali, a prošle subote smo pravili likove sa šeširima – ako ste propustili i još uvek želite da se priključite, nikad nije kasno!

A wonderful turn out on 24 and 25 May - what an exciting beginning ! Thank you to everyone who came! We laughed, we cried, and last Saturday we created characters with hats - if you missed it and you still want to join, it's never too late!

What news! HUGE congratulations to our first artists in residency with us (back in 2020) and for winning a BAFTA on Sunday!!!

Well... We saw it coming, considering they are multi award winners anyway, having won an award to come to Balkan Retreat in the first place!

Filled with half-rotten garden clippings, compost, vermicompost, manure and soil - all sourced on site except for the straw and manure which came from our wonderful neighbour...

Hey everyone! Like last year, we are looking for house sitters. For 6-7 weeks mid January to beginning of March. Small rent + bills (€100 per week) plus small tasks to do with feeding the cat and if there are any guests, you would have to welcome and register them. We have a cleaner, so that is not necessary. Please PM if interested.

Thank you for inviting me to present Balkan Retreat and learn about so many incredible and diverse grassroots cultural projects occuring all over Europe and beyond that are reviving rural and non-urban communities sustainably and with care. ⭐ So thrilled to have the multi-talented TOM CURZON return to us, this time with his equal, JULIA NESHER, since his last visit with award-winning Brighton Buoy clown collective in 2020! ⭐🥳

🔥 Wow - Tom and Julie, what a pair, this hardworking duo who locked themselves in our rehearsal studio late into the evening, on their 7 day stint this July, making a start on a new artistic journey together... With bed sheets, colourful hats and felt tip pens... What were you building in there?😎⭐

⭐ We are so warmed that they chose to birth their creative newborn with us - and to have fed them, watered them, and fired them up with the heat of Serbian sun, rakija and countryside relaxation here in our cozy retreat.🤗☀️🌿

⭐ We can't wait to hear how their creative journey unfolds back in the UK... ⭐

💐Thank you for making us a part of that process and for AGAIN supporting our little creative space hidden in the village of Besnovacki Prnjavor. 🙏☀️⭐
