Tiffany & Co. has been honored with the Jury’s Special Prize at the inaugural Monaco Grand Prix de la Haute Joaillerie. This prize celebrates the House’s enduring legacy of design innovation and creativity in high jewelry.

One of four creations presented in Tiffany & Co.’s award-winning body of work, the Cascade necklace, designed by Chief Artistic Officer Nathalie Verdeille, pays homage to Jean Schlumberger’s love of the natural world. Inspired by his Leaves necklace, the piece features delicate gold “vines” and diamond-encrusted leaves that move with the wearer. Each pearl on the design—sourced from the renowned Al Fardan collection, the world’s foremost authority on natural saltwater pearls—exemplifies exceptional rarity, meticulously selected for their remarkable luster, color and shape.

Held for the first time in Monaco, the Grand Prix de la Haute Joaillerie honors the excellence, innovation and artistry that define high jewelry. For nearly two centuries, Tiffany & Co. has embodied these values through pioneering craftsmanship and creative vision, a legacy that continues to shine today on the world’s most prestigious stage.

A triumph of heritage and creativity, the Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Butterflies choker has been awarded the Heritage Prize at the inaugural Monaco Grand Prix de la Haute Joaillerie.

Designed in 1956 and now held in the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Collection, the Butterflies choker was inspired by Schlumberger’s friend, philanthropist and horticulturist Rachel “Bunny” Mellon, who envisioned a necklace capturing the beauty of butterflies. A medley of diamonds, turquoise, amethysts, sapphires and spinels, it was among the first high jewelry commissions created by Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co., arranged to showcase its dynamic colors and evoke the graceful movement of butterflies in flight.

Debuting in Monaco, the Grand Prix de la Haute Joaillerie pays tribute to the artistry and innovation that define high jewelry, honoring the maisons and creators who continue to reimagine the craft for generations to come. From Jean Schlumberger’s boundless imagination to the present day, Tiffany & Co. carries forward a legacy of extraordinary craftsmanship and creative brilliance.

Also used in Tiffany’s iconic lamps and windows, this material perfectly captures the shimmering beauty of these natural forms. Set in 18k gold, each pressed glass beetle glows with light, evoking the delicate yet striking form of the insect, blurring the line between nature and art.
