There are places that take hold of your heart without making much sense.
Helsinki is such a place. .. It’s hard to describe why or how but I love this city because it gives me the feeling of home -something I felt only once before in my lifetime- There is this understated elegance to Helsinki, this peaceful energy without being boring, this excitement, beautiful but not overpowering… it just feels like a place where one can belong… where one can be fully yourself.
And so, when the opportunity arises to create here, and even more so with the .collective , who are championing community and creativity, it was a resounding YES!
I have so many things to say about this that wouldn’t fit on a caption text so a blogpost is on the horizon, so let me tell you this for now: it was truly an honour to be there, under the beautiful light of May, and some of my favorite things colliding all together:
Co-creation and honest collaboration with like minded creatives (still so in awe of the care and respect of 4 photographers working together in harmony), dancing flowers, beautiful architecture, the best wine, serendipity, intentional fashion (Mira, you are a fairy woman!), love, gestures, wandering, curating second hand items for the tablescape, chasing the light, the sea and so much more!

Thank you for your trust. I can’t believe you give me the keys to the restaurant and let us run with our crazy ideas. We were only sad we couldn’t eat your delicious food afterwards!
Thank you Mira and Jarne - the softness and kindness shines through in your connection and it was a beautiful thing to witness.
And gosh woman .fi ! What a fairy you are! That fashion you put together was so inspiring!

Happy anniversary to my dear Alex & Mike! I carry you and your story forever in my heart!

Memories of a beautiful weekend between Porto and the Jolda-Madalena countryside.
The first wedding held after Paço da Gloria’s reopening, this was a celebration rooted in community and authenticity.
Here to many more years of bliss and wonder for you! Hopefully we will get to have another cigar and whisky at 3 am and reminisce about this crazy beautiful journey!

Hello! Since there are so many new lovely faces over here, I thought it would be time for an introduction. This is me, Eva, the face (brains and hands) behind Avodah. I am so glad you are here and grateful that you follow my work and my ramblings here.
A few things about me:
- Bringing people together around the table is one of my greatest joys!
- I feel the most authentically me when I am dancing, when I am near the ocean, lost in a book and having deep conversations over a good meal and a glass of wine (or over the fire with a flask of whisky)
- I love that each of my life experiences have contributed to better serve my couples and all the beautiful people that come my way: four years of law school gave me the tools to think critically under pressure, familiarly with legal systems and language and of course ethical reasoning. 6 years of arts and faith based humanitarian work in many corners of the world taught me a deep appreciation and curiosity of cultures, a sensibility and care for people’s stories, an insight for community building and conflict resolution. My studies in Expressive Arts Therapy taught me how to create a safe environment, how to better listen and communicate, how to honour the creative process and respond aesthetically to what each one brings forth. Ultimately all these things prepared me and led me in subtle ways to discover my Ikigai-which I believe is Avodah 😊
- As your wedding planner and designer, I am a big championer of your dreams, your quirks and “crazy ideas”. Nothing is ever too much if it matters to you, even if it doesn’t fall into the traditional script of what a wedding celebration should have and look like. One of the gifts that doing this work has given me, it’s encountering kindred spirits, creatives that pour their heart and soul into what they do and who are constantly questioning the status quo, honing their craft and pushing themselves to serve better!
I say this over and over again, trusting your wedding vendor team is so vital for creating a memorable experience and I have learn to trust my intuition when it comes to recommending each person to my couples. This is not based on friendship ( even if some have become dear friends!), nor my own preferences, but the ones I believe will better serve the vision of my couples, in terms of personality, quality and creativity.
There is no kickbacks or hidden motives. Just the commitment of having your back and protecting what matters to you.
In an industry (goodness do I hate that word! Any suggestions on what else can we call it!?) where so often transparency lacks, we want to make sure that every person we bring onboard to co-create your celebration with, will go the extra mile to make it unforgettable and unique!
One of the first vendors I knew was the perfect fit for Kandice & Aaron was Amandine aka
She understood the vision, ran with it and was the perfect collaborator to bring the artistic flair we wanted! Cannot wait to work with her again!

My first train ride in 2026. Crossing a snowy landscape. Barely any light but you can almost feel the promise of sunrise in the horizon, a waning gibbous moon crowning the forest, and me sitting here fixing the vintage velvet dress I’ll wear tonight. My mind wanders as the needle pierces the fabric. The metaphor hidden there doesn’t escape me…
It’s been a strange start, like somehow I haven’t crossed the threshold and even wishing happy new year has felt unnatural. Can you relate?
Yet, somehow I feel a shift. It’s hard to put into words but there is a fullness inside waiting to be released.
The landscape outside is echoing memories of a yonder time where the foundation of what is today was lay.
And here am I, in a mixed reality (but aren’t we all!?) with one certainty: the heavy hearts will come home laughing.
I am not wishing you a happy new year … happiness is an elusive concept in this broken world of ours. What I am wishing you is moments of quiet joy and loud laughter, a soft kindness for you and your loved ones, that you find solace in all the love all around you, that you learn to cultivate stillness and community, that you may sow the seeds of hope and beauty that are within you and that you never ever loose the hability to marvel … lets us continue… “like those who dreamed”
Here is to a kind 2026 holding each other up and sharing in the joy and terror of this beautiful thing called life! So many good things coming and I can’t wait to share them with you!
