In March, we bid farewell to the historic Carriage House.

Built in 1914 alongside the Ralph Connor House, the Carriage House was home to Mr and Mrs Ledger— the Gordons’ trusted cook, housekeeper, and estate handyman. Mrs Ledger oversaw the household staff, while her husband managed the estate and accompanied Charles Gordon on his global speaking tours, ensuring his documents and schedule were always in order. The main floor housed the Gordons’ carriages, as they never owned a motor vehicle— choosing instead to travel by horse and carriage.

Our holiday program events are always highly anticipated, and with good reason.

On Friday, December 13th the Westgate Collegiate choir will join us for an afternoon performance of Holiday Favourites, and the following week, on Wednesday, December 18th our annual holiday dinner will be capped off with a presentation by local historian Scott Stephen, who will take us back in time with Christmas traditions in Red River.

The Global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an international campaign led by the United Nations to challenge violence against women and girls.

The campaign runs every year from November 25, the International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women to December 10, Human Rights Day.
