Weddings are not social debt repayment.
Just because someone invited you to their wedding years ago doesn’t mean they automatically belong at yours.

Your guest list should reflect who actively supports your relationship today, not past obligations, guilt, or family pressure.
If inviting someone feels heavy instead of joyful, that’s information worth listening to.

While I normally brag about all the amazing weddings that I get to take part in, I think it is time to brag about the one that truly changed my life.

8 years ago today I married my best friend (to my other best friends if you're reading this I love you as well I swear...)

This day changed a lot for me: it made me realize that you really can't sweat the small stuff, those that show up for you matter most, and that communication, laughter and a good high five can get you through just about anything. While I sit back to think about the last 8 years married and 14 together, it is hard to capture just how much has happened: 1 year of carpooling, 1 shabby apartment, 2 homes, 2 kitties, new careers, plenty of wine, and even more laughter and love.

James, I would marry you over and over again. Thank you for supporting me and my wild ideas. Thank you for always making me laugh. Thank you for being such a hard worker ensuring our dreams make it to reality. Thank you for being you.

Also, major shout out to for being the most fun, approachable photography team out there who truly made our day amazing and provided us with the best photos to reminisce on!

Cheers to 8 years, and many more to come!

This post is for both married couples and couples currently in the planning process 🤍

Lately, I’ve been seeing so many engaged couples deep in wedding planning feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, and stressed over every little detail. And while some stress can definitely come with planning such a big day (and hiring a coordinator can absolutely help take some of that off your plate), I think another thing that helps is hearing from people who have already been through it.

So... married couples, I’d love your help with this one 👇

What was something during wedding planning that felt SO important or overwhelming at the time… but looking back, either had an easy solution or really didn’t matter as much as you thought it would?

Maybe it was table numbers.
Maybe it was signage.
Maybe it was the seating chart, napkin colour, or timeline stress.

Time for another Venue Shoutout!

This time it is for ! This amazing venue is located just a few minutes off the 401 in Blenheim, featured on a massive property filled with beautiful ponds and natural landscaping.

This venue is truly amazing: the owners Klaudia and James put their all into making sure the venue is truly perfect. The nice thing is you can have the owners be as hands on or off as you'd like. Want to save all the stress and book with their preferred vendors and have Timber Ridge do the full set up? You can do that. Want to book your own vendors and do your own set up? Go for it. This venue allows you to customize your needs to ensure your day is exactly as imagined!

I am thrilled to get to spend a number of weddings at this venue this season!

Having a backup plan doesn’t mean you expect rain. I am known for saying when you have a weather plan, you don't need it, when you don't have one, you will wish you did!

Having a weather plan means that no matter what the weather does, you stay calm.
A solid rain plan removes panic, last-minute scrambling, and disappointment from the equation.

Prepared couples enjoy their day more - no matter what the forecast says.

Sometimes the vision of that beautiful outdoor ceremony doesn't come to fruition due to good ol' mother nature. The important thing, is to pick a venue that has a solid rain plan for you to ensure your "I Do's" can still happen and you can be fully surrounded by those you love most!

The storm passed, but love remained!
