The RISE Awards, a moment in the year where we celebrate the incredible contributions, achievements and accomplishments that women in our community are deserving of. It was an honour to be the Gala Director, for the last 8 months seeing how this project would come together. And it was a wonderful evening. A BIG Thank you to everyone who was involved, the Board, the Sponsors, all the event professionals that helped create it. To for being Coordinator of Ceremonies, who was the utmost professional.

What a beautiful privilege to be not only in this room yesterday, but to be witness to all these amazing women’s stories...

What a beautiful privilege to be not only in this room yesterday, but to be witness to all these amazing women’s stories and lived experiences.

I have been chosen to be Gala Director, and there have been many, many hours put into creating this event. But yesterday was the perfect reminder of the reason I volunteer for KWIB.
These women are so inspiring, and in this room there was no competition. They all cheer for each other, and raise each other up. And it came full circle as to why the event in named RISE.

Can’t wait to see how it all comes to together next week.
