We proudly opened CrabFest 2025 on the traditional, unceded territory of the Lək̓ʷəŋən-speaking Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. The ceremony featured a heartfelt welcome and performance by the Lək̓ʷəŋən Traditional Dancers .

Featured in our Educational Marketplace, offers immersive canoe and walking tours of Lək̓ʷəŋən territory in downtown Victoria. Led by Indigenous guides, each tour weaves together songs, stories, and history to bring the land—and its people—to life. We’re grateful to Songhees Tours for sharing the rich culture, language, and stories of the Songhees Nation with us at BC CrabFest 2025.

We also welcomed , a community-led nonprofit working to return land and decision-making power back to Indigenous Nations. Their booth shared tools and resources to help individuals and organizations take action toward landback and reciprocity. We’re proud to have hosted them at CrabFest as part of our commitment to education, reconciliation, and coastal stewardship.

We’re proud to spotlight community partners whose leadership brought 1600 people a BC CrabBoil! Thank you to the Culinary Arts Program, ’s Crosstown Kitchen and .

Together, we created something meaningful - a shared meal that reflects purpose, mentorship, and giving back. We donated approximately 2000 lb of CrabBoil ingredients to ‘s Food Share program.

This is the kind of partnership BC CrabFest is proud to celebrate. It’s local. It’s collaborative. And it’s rooted in a simple belief: that BC Dungeness crab should be shared with care - and with everyone.

We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia.

We hope you enjoyed the irresistible flavours of our Authentic BC CrabBoil and had an amazing time taking in all the summertime festivities! It was an honour to present over 1300 BC CrabBoil buckets to our community and welcome so many to the Festival.

1% of all BC CrabBoil Buckets is going directly towards the Vic West Community Center & Reciprocity Trusts. Your support helped double our contributions to the Vic West Community Centre Reciprocity Trusts!!

This event celebrated community spirited and cultural connections as well as shared the generational family tradition of a summertime CrabBoil.

🤝 making our land acknowledgment a little more meaningful. Reciprocity is about creating a lasting relationship between our communities as well as the land and sea we play and work on.

🌳 A non-profit here to promote, facilitate, support and undertake any activity that will enhance the quality of life in the Victoria West community.
