Coming up on the show tomorrow! is joining me for a poetry reading & to debut a new project, People w/ Poise.

"People w/ Poise are the love child of Liam St. John, Greg Bertato, and Daniel Turenne. It is a seamless fusion of poetry and instrumental music with words by Liam, keys by Greg, and bass by Dan. Thematically, the music and poetry are meditations on growth and finding place, peace and routine amongst the constant change: with a few love poems sprinkled in there for good measure."

For over 2 years now I’ve hosted my radio show, Freak Frequencies (formerly called Hot Local Singles in Your Playlist) on CFUV 101.9 FM, which also got me into organizing live music events.

Over the past 2 years I've:
- Organized 16 events
- Worked with over 56 artists
- Brought out over 2,500 cumulative attendees
- Paid artists over $25,000

I don't usually like to mention the numbers/stats behind my events and whatnot, but I think it is important to highlight how much this radio station and community hub has enabled me, as an individual, to produce events and work in Victoria's performing arts community while supporting myself and artists.

I would not be doing any of this if it hadn't been for my time at CFUV. The training, community connections and confidence that I've gained from this space has been transformative and brought out sides of me that I didn't know were possible.

This event is dedicated to the communities in Altadena and Pasadena, and throughout LA, that have been displaced & affected by the industry-caused fires in the Eaton Valley.

"Altadena represented prosperity. It represented joy. It represented unity and Black excellence. And for that to all burn to pieces, it's just absolutely devastating," said Richard-Craven. Altadena was long considered a haven for Black families who began settling there at the turn of the 20th century and continued trickling in as the years ensued. Spellbound Blues Vol I is out now 💜

It has been an absolute treat to work with on their debut album release. If you saw me thrashing about in my chair while working on my computer, it's probably because I was listening to this. I was worried that listening to these songs over and over again would make me sick of this album by now, but it has only deepened my love and appreciation for Spellbound Blues and Conure Hand
