This Friday, we mark a major milestone for the first River-class destroyer as we lay the keel for the future HMCS Fraser. The keel laying ceremony is a centuries-old tradition invoking good luck for the ship in construction and throughout its life.

The River-class destroyer project will deliver next-generation capability for the Royal Canadian Navy. As Canada’s Combat Shipbuilder, ISI is proud to be delivering sovereign capability to Canada.

Ce vendredi, nous marquerons un jalon important de la construction du premier destroyer de la classe Fleuves et rivières en procédant à la pose de la quille du futur NCSM Fraser. La cérémonie de pose de la quille est une tradition séculaire réputée pour apporter chance au navire durant sa construction et toute sa durée de vie.

Le projet de destroyer de la classe Fleuves et rivières contribuera à la mise en place de la capacité de prochaine génération de la Marine royale canadienne. C’est avec fierté qu’Irving Shipbuilding Inc. appuie la capacité souveraine du Canada en assumant le rôle de constructeur de navires de combat du pays.
