GARDEN WALK AND SALE CANCELED 🌳

Hi everyone… unfortunately the Garden Walk and Sale scheduled for May 31 and June 1 won’t be happening as planned…some unforeseen problems have come up and we are forced to cancel…due to the great response, parking and liability issues being of the most concern. The Garden Walk event at Acorn Lane is now SOLD OUT….thank you to everyone who jumped on board for your support… due to parking and space restrictions , we are full! I will be sending all updates and notices to your DM’s. However, the other vendors I’m collaborating with are still open for visitors..🌳🌳🌳

My collaboration with three other Bench vendors originally scheduled for Mother’s Day weekend, has been postponed to a new date.. we are now on for Saturday, May 31 and Sunday June 1. Collectively we are offering beautiful ladies fashions, fine antiques, garden plants and flowers, painted garden containers and much more, as well as a garden walk at Acorn Lane. It will be set up as a tour, with a stop to each vendor on the route, all within minutes of each other, within the Jordan and Vineland area. Consider this post as a save the date! Myths about potted hydrangeas… a plant I love and use everywhere in my garden is the hydrangea…so many species too many to mention! Two years ago I discovered the hortensia white, from a local grower just around the corner from me..I admired the tight, compact blooms and turgid, individual florets, as you can see from the photos.. what I discovered over the growing season, the flowers went from a beautiful white/green colour to variations of green and pink as well.. it really was a treat to watch it unfold! It works in container pots if kept moist and is kept out of the hot sun. It will tolerate shade, part shade part and sun and shade locations and is almost completely pest resistance… . It looks lovely combined with ivies, compact trailing plants and feathery ferns… and I have underplayed it with mosses as well. This May, it will be available for sale during the Mother’s Day event I’m planning in the garden with 3 other local vendors.. it will be an invitation only event, and the admission is limited due to location and parking concerns here at Acorn Lane. Redecorating…in my mind, while lounging on winter break…after reading the Flower Room by Australian designer Charlotte Coote.. a fav of mine.. I’m thinking of repurposing and perhaps redecorate my existing flower/summer kitchen near our back stairs.. here are a few shots of it .. it also serves as laundry room, mini kitchen, drop off for groceries and place for messy tasks.. but I really want to utilize as a flower room.. for storing the collection of bridal baskets, vintage glass vases, lovely ceramic vessels and collectibles and a beautiful place to create flower arrangements from the garden.. if I ever get beyond my phobia of cutting them!! I installed a deep, large farmhouse sink in this room, stainless, and a large counter top.. I want to add wallpaper and a lovely overhead fixture to the ceiling.. these are just some of the thoughts whirling about … yes, I’m on vacay… but always creating in my mind… please tell me I’m not alone!!! Its’ in the minus digits today but thoughts of the garden loom in my mind…this vintage iron planter with years of patina and pedigree have been in the garden for a long time.. I love to plant it every spring with shade companions to the garden.. it sits under a burning bush on the lower terrace by our back door.. perfectly adapted to the growing conditions …caladiums, ivies, ferns and begonias…
