About Genie and GenWoo Shop

Genie's journey began in Ottawa, the capital of Canada, in 2013 when she crafted her first tassel garland for her baby boy's nursery. As orders poured in on Etsy, Genie realized she had stumbled upon something special. With a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, she expanded her offerings, transforming her small shop into a skilled artisan party studio GenWoo Shop. Today, we proudly offer custom balloon design and installation services, along with handcrafted paper and tinsel decorations, to individual and commercial clients across Ottawa and surrounding areas. Our online shop continues to serve customers throughout Canada and the USA, offering assembled tassel garlands and balloon DIY kits delivered right to your door. Whether you're planning a local event or a long-distance celebration, we're here to help bring your party vision to life. Contact us today to bring your party dreams to life! Press:

Apparently, some of our work looks AI-generated to IG. 👀 That’s why we keep sharing behind-the-scenes footage.

Sharing a little design thinking. 🧡

🔸 Different shapes and textures add depth. Dark and light shades create dimension. Even the black tinsel against the black backdrop adds a subtle layer of detail. It may look spontaneous, but there’s intention and structure behind every choice.

🔸 Made for kids, but cute doesn’t have to mean sacrificing aesthetics. Finding that balance is part of a designer’s job.

🔸 Limited space and budget? That’s where thoughtful design comes in. Sometimes, constraints bring out the best ideas. It’s about knowing what to do, what to leave out, and when to stop.

A little Italian colour for Scaddabush Kanata 🇮🇹

A custom balloon arch in red, white, soft green and chrome silver, designed to frame the patio entrance and welcome guests in.

We love creating pieces that feel connected to the space, the brand and the occasion.

Come along with me for a morning balloon installation at Scaddabush Kanata. 🎈🇮🇹

One thing about onsite setups: there’s almost always a little adjusting once you see everything in the actual space.

This one needed a quick reposition before the final touches, and I think the new spot worked even better.

All finished and ready 30 minutes before opening! 🙌

A little behind the scenes from the sectional competition hosted by Gloucester Skating Club this past weekend.

For this event, the brief was simple: bring in the club colours, feature their logo, and add some festive energy without distracting from the competition itself.

Not every event needs a big statement. Sometimes, the best decor is the kind that supports the experience and lets the participants shine.

A fun one to design and install for Rideau Gym’s annual BBQ and 10th anniversary celebration.

We took inspiration from the colourful gym cushions and turned that palette into a balloon installation with a playful retro feel.

Thank you, Rideau Gymnastics, for having us be part of the celebration. Here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at the setup!
