This ceremony installation was created during the Flora Workshop we attended in Orange, California - a completely sustainable design artfully curated by & . Every detail was intentional, from the foam-free mechanics to the textural balance and movement in the flowers.

It was a reminder of what’s possible in the best way.

When you give your florist creative freedom, we’re not just filling a space, we’re telling a story. One that feels like 𝙮𝙤𝙪, grounded in beauty, emotion, and artistry.

Being a sustainable florist isn’t just about ditching floral foam (though yes, we do that too).

It means thinking deeply about every part of the process - from where your flowers come from to how they’re arranged, delivered, and even how they’re priced.

At TwinFlower Studio, sustainability is more than just a buzzword. It’s woven into how we design, source, and show up for our clients and community. This includes:

✔️ Buying locally grown Alberta flowers May through October

✔️ Reusing and repurposing mechanics and packaging

✔️ Encouraging clients to bring meaningful vessels for special occasions

✔️ Stocking Canadian-made, small-batch goods

✔️ Paying fair wages and setting realistic timelines

✔️ And being one of only two florists in Alberta certified by the Sustainable Floristry Network

Sustainability isn’t always easy, but it’s worth it. We’re proud to do better when we can, and we’re always learning.

Weddings don’t always go according to plan - and that’s ok.

We had envisioned a floral piece for the top of Kym’s cupcake cart - a piece she held near and dear to her heart as a space for guests to select a decadent treat - but when I arrived on site with a rounded roof, I had to rethink things fast.

With a few tweaks and a little problem-solving, I pivoted and designed a floral accent that worked beautifully on with the space.

What does a floral designer *really* do?

It’s easy to see the flowers. The colours. The beauty. But what we actually do goes much deeper.

We study balance and movement. We think in emotion, not just stems.
We design for how something feels as much as how it looks.
We translate love stories, personalities, and tiny fleeting moments into something tactile and unforgettable.

This isn’t about tossing blooms in a vase. It’s art. It’s intention. It’s storytelling - in the most ephemeral medium there is.

💐 From a recent styled shoot with the dreamiest palette of soft pinks and whites. Light, airy, romantic - and deeply considered.
