Donna & Patrick envisioned an al fresco wedding that felt intimate, elegant, and deeply connected to the natural setting at The Talar in the University of Alberta Botanical Gardens.
Their ceremony was originally designed with a ground arch in mind - but with a last minute shift in placement, we reimagined the florals to frame the stone wall behind them, adding layered pieces along the ground and atop the wall for extra depth and interest.
At the reception, a single long table of 70 guests dining family-styled posed a fun design challenge: how to keep it lush without getting in the way of shared dishes and flowing conversation? We created smaller arrangements with natural textures and soft movement - grasses swaying in the breeze, floral tones echoing the golden sunset, and a design that felt like it grew right from the gardens themselves.
