Our History

Our family has enjoyed these 76 acres of prairie paradise for almost two decades. We’ve explored so much of what the Interlake has to offer from the sandy beaches, boardwalks, and boreal forests, to Icelandic settlements, the WAVE artist tour, and the Gimli Film festival. Having a cabin in Matlock has provided us with the seclusion of country living but also the community and amenities of being close to Gimli, Winnipeg Beach and Selkirk.

Then, in February 2018, Allie got engaged and there was nowhere she’d rather be on her wedding day than at the cabin. As plans progressed to host her own wedding, we discovered that there were very few venues in the surrounding area. This sparked the idea for the newest outdoor event centre in the Interlake.

Now we are reinventing what our cabin means to us. We decided to use the name Kinloch from our connections to the Kinloch Hotel in the Isle of Mull, Scotland. It’s a fitting name for our business and location, as Kinloch means family-lake. Kinloch Grove is a blend of old and new traditions, and encompasses what the event centre, and company, values most of all; family.
