It’s been difficult to find the words.
Mom Clingen has gone to be with the Saviour. So wonderful for her, but so very hard for us.

Mom had a quiet strength and a warmth that made everyone around her feel seen, welcomed, and loved. She had a way of making ordinary moments feel special—whether it was through a simple conversation, a shared meal, or just her steady presence.
I feel such deep gratitude to be loved by her, for this I know is the kindness of God and His care for me. Though she was my mother-in-law, she loved me as her own. She never tried to change me and embraced all my idiosyncrasies. Mom helped us in every aspect of our lives, the raising of our children, and even our business ventures.. still doing the accounting up until the day she retired, which happened to be three days after her stroke! She had lost her speech, and so she wrote out on a piece of paper ‘retired’! lol Her kindness, her wisdom, and her faithful walk with the Lord will continue to be a guiding presence in my life.
She leaves behind a legacy, that I believe, will have impact for generations to come. After a stroke, surgery and two heart attacks, I will cherish every minute and conversation together while in the hospital. As some one said to me.. those were ‘sacred’ moments.

Many will miss her roast beef dinners, her decadent pavlova with time around her table, and I will too, but mostly I will miss our evening place of refuge in her living room with a cup of tea and my listening and loyal friend.

Love you so much Mom. I’m sure you are enjoying the realms of heaven, the most beautiful worship and the presence of the Saviour, but if you see my Mom, please tell her you looked after me so well.

I’ve been a little MIA..
… because life looks a little different right now 🙏
Mom Clingen has had a stroke, and if you’ve been following along you know that she is our queen. Her life has been marked by serving others in the most subtle, sacrificial, yet profound and impactful ways. We as a family and may others have been the recipients of her care, support and treasured guidance for many years. What an example, dear friend and confidant she has been to me. Although she is my mother-in-law, from day one, she has loved and cared for me as her very own. No distinction between David and myself.. a beautiful example of unmerited favour, and the love of God in full display.
The days ahead may be different than what we’ve known, but we so thankful for the hope of recovery, and pray for many more days together here on the farm at their ‘Clingen Cottage’:
So very thankful for our health care and the medical staff at Cortellucci Hospital. Also are hearts are warmed and encouraged by the messages, prayers and thoughtfulness of so many, including our church fam who have made sure Dad is well fed while we are at the hospital. 🤍
‘Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all. Proverbs 31-28-29
