My husband captured this image after a mad dash to move the ceremony floral to the reception space last weekend. I was “editing” after these installations had sat in the sun for hours and they needed to continue to look good for many more hours. I can look back now and recognize the beauty of this space but at the time I was mostly just stressed, exhausted, dehydrated and fighting a bit of heatstroke.
But I wasn’t alone. This wedding took an army of absolutely stellar vendors. Our team of (5) worked so hard but I also watched my friends bring their all to this day. I don’t say this to complain. I just want everyone to realize what it takes to execute a day like this. Preparation starts about a year out (for me anyway), many emails, zoom meetings, charts, graphs, extensive order sheets and communication with suppliers. Jennifer Kennedy-Maksymiw was a superstar of organization on this one who balanced a thousand details.
I needed about three days of recovery after but I can look at it now (thankfully we had an amazing social media crew and videographer to post the final product right away) and feel so lucky that I got to be a part of this day. The exhaustion aside I was so darn proud of myself, our crew and my fellow vendors who came together and created something amazing.
My job is pretty great.
