Which do you prefer: Tulips 🌷 or Roses 🌹?

Tulips are beautiful bulbous flowers that bloom in a variety of colours including pink, red, purple, orange, white, and yellow. These bell-shaped beautiful are more affordable and easier to maintain, but only last about 10 days.

Roses, on the other hand, typically have around 60 layers of teardrop petals. They grow pretty quickly and are perennial. While stunning, they are more expensive, require more space to grow, and take more to maintain.

I never met this couple until the day before their wedding…

As a florist, I have the privilege of adding that extra touch of beauty to weddings, and this one was truly special. The bride and groom were in the U.S., while their parents were elsewhere, making it a unique challenge and opportunity.

We relied heavily on WhatsApp and phone calls, and the bride and groom entrusted me with every detail of their special day. From approving decor ideas to choosing the perfect flowers, I was with them every step of the way.

It wasn't until May/June that we finally met in person, just one day before the wedding. Seeing their smiles on the big day made it all worth it.

The bride's dress was white, and they asked for my expertise in choosing complementary or contrasting colours for the decor and flowers. I was thrilled to help bring their vision to life, and the result was simply stunning.

Their initial worries about trusting me from afar melted away, and it's a testament to the power of communication and trust in creating wedding magic. Distance couldn't dampen the joy of this beautiful day!

From teaching silk painting to blossoming into a professional florist, my journey has been a colourful ride.

With 12 years of experience, I'm all about pushing boundaries in floral design and decorating. I’ve dyed flowers lilac and gold so a bride didn’t have to worry about the shortage of a colour she wanted and even created 25 unique centrepieces using the same three colours for TedTalk 2019.
