We love being able to be a part of so many cool local events! 🎶
The dust has settled, sleep has been caught up on and we're all back to regular life... Unfortunately. Alternative Waves Music Festival 2025 was again a weekend filled with friends new and old, enormous amounts of love and hugs, paired with some the biggest talent you could find in music. From start to finish the bands absolutely melted the stages, the vibes were immaculate and everyone came together for a celebration of music, summer and friends... even mother nature cooperated year!
To all the bands that played on both the indoor and outdoor stages this year, you guys all brought your A game and amazed. We are blown away every year by the level of talent that graces our stages and this year was another showcase of that. We are honored to have had you all and to have been able to enjoy your art. Thank you ❤️
To all the volunteers and staff at The Mainliner over the weekend dealing with the chaos, helping wherever needed, keeping us fed and hydrated... We could not have done any if this without you. You have become family to us and it was so great to spend time, even with the chaos at times. We appreciate you all and love you tons. Thank you ❤️
To our audio team, you absolutely crushed it. Tyler, Cory, Louie, Ryan and Jagur kept things nearly right on time and sounding incredible. We can't thank you enough for making this weekend happen. Thank you ❤️
To our media folks, Ary and Clay from Branch of Carnage and Death on Display, Breanna from Melodic Imagery, Fenix, Ali and anyone else who may have captured any of this weekend's magic from behind a lens... we appreciate you so much. Your work is so important, people get so much joy from seeing pictures of doing what they love with the people they love. Thank you ❤️
Some special thanks... Thank you to Geoff and Tina from Loud As Hell for being such amazing humans. Not only did Geoff MC the outdoor stage again this year with Tina helping out with all sorts of things, they keep us grounded and check in often and Dan Lowey from Heavy Metal A Way Of Life. They've become a safe place and a sense of peace. We love you, we couldn't imagine doing this without you, thank you ❤️
To Phil and Liz Aucoin, Keith's wonderful Mom and Dad, for their continuous support and great ideas for merch among a billion other things they do to keep things going and let us know we're supported. We love you, we appreciate it all so much. Thank you ❤️
To Amber and Travis of Crimson Caliber, who loaned their heads to Illscarlett in a time of need and to anyone else to shared gear to make things work, you are absolute heroes. Thank you ❤️
To Brad of VOAT for again coming and hanging out during the fest and providing us some absolutely WILD exclusive stickers, shirts and boards for people to snag over the weekend. Brad is a beautiful human being and tons of fun. We can't thank him enough for his help, his hangs and his art from this weekend. Hoping to keep dragging you out brother. Thank you, much love to you ❤️
To the City of Medicine Hat Community Vibrancy group, thank you for believing in us and giving us a chance this year. The small grant is so valuable to us as a small fest, every dollar counts. Tha k you ❤️
And finally, to ALL OF YOU. All of you who showed up to support this growing fest along with all these bands. We need people like you to continue to support the music scene and help support and build all the bands that play. Withiut you, we would be nothing. It warms our hearts hanging out with you at our shows, fests and just anywhere we randomly run into some of the Alt Waves fam. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Much love ❤️
We have some very exciting Medicine Hat shows being announced very soon and some really cool things coming up, NEXT UP, JULY 4TH AT REC ROOM CALGARY WITH FLOODGATE, BEYOND SUFFERING, PENALTY AND INDIGO ICE!!! Along with Moments Fest barreling toward us labor day long weekend in Siksika. See you all very soon! Now to start planning for next year... TONS OF PHOTOS TO COME!
