June 7th, 2025 Brandy + Kyle

It was a wild year for these two. 12 weeks to spare, they both had the wedding going smoothly until their family photographer friend was about to have a baby. I remember a year ago when they reached out, I loved their vibe - the style Brandy was going for was a total experience of fashion, vouge, old money, class, and glamor. Something I haven't had too much request for. I was excited. While Owl Eye Photography was a last-minute booked, we did what we do, bringing comfort and ease to ensure that the day will unfold as planned and bring your vision to life.

The touches that went into their day to make the people they love feel special, from morning getting ready, first look with dad, to the details and the location. These two love to party!

I was blown away by their first dance. It was so elegant and graceful. The sparklers blew the dance floor up, and the champagne toast, with everyone cheering them, was fantastic.

Let's talk about the bridal party. There were some very strong women from this crew that kept the brides needs first, and it was admirable.

Brandy carried the best smile while her vision unfolded from the day, her friends right by her side. While Kyle, calm and collected, enjoyed the presents of his friend and family.

These two were the last ones by the fire, with a week ahead of recovery. They did an amazing job!

Thank you for accommodating my tram and I, we appreciate you welcoming us into your journey ❤️

June 6th, 2025 Heather + Jason

In the most precious moments, that's where you'll see me capturing true love.

This wedding signifies life of independence, a woman I know well and someone I have had the utmost respect for in The Bow Valley. She's been through it, yet always gives back, working hard to support her team and love her community, daughter, and friends - the list goes on.

However, in a short period of time, getting to know Jason and the things people have to say about him. He is welcoming, accepting, and supporting and has taken on the father figure for a single mom and her daughter. To me, that's huge.

Heather hired my husband back at The Grizzly Paw and was one of my biggest supports when it came to me taking photography more seriously. She brought me along to combine our passions for clean ups, straw incentives, and capturing brand photos for her business endeavors. From markets to serving, to time away to grow to coming back and watching you get the love you deserve.

These photos signify the melt of your love you two share.

Thank you for having my husband and I here to celebrate and capture the memories for you both. ❤️ Many blessings to you both. This was such a beautiful celebration with all your close family and friends in one place.

Amazing job!

Welcome to Owl Eye Photographys meaning, the reasoning for this beautiful endeavor and the opening to a new chapter.

Family has everything to do with who we become and how I choose to tell my story is through the events that have shaped me over the years.

Have you ever had the most catastrophic event take place and hurt you and your family so deeply that everything in your life changed?

I cherish my mom, she's been a woman who's raised 4 kids on and off on her own. She's battled the depths of mental health and her own darkness. Yet somehow, she always manages to come out sining on the other side, laughing, smiling and wild as all hell. I am my mother's daughter. For when you look at me and see love and light, I'm telling you, I'm the product of my mom.

The gift that I have as an artist is sharing stories, capturing them, and turning them into art pieces. Owl Eye's Story is in this short film that was brought together by years of experience in the art industry, photo and video world and cultivated into my passion for directing.

My friend Jas and I had a chat many years ago. I said to her that I would have her film for me on my story for how Owl Eye Photographys name came about. The thing is, we were young twenties, skateboarding around Banff and had no clue that we would diverse into this beautiful, team in our mountain community nearly 8 years later.

In 2024, I spent time in my bathtub writing for 3 hours, completely dumping the feelings and emotions since the age of 11 until last year. We took that and made this into a 6.5-minute film.

I am so incredibly grateful to have the people in my life who’ve helped shape me into who I am today and have made this journey possible.

First, I want to give a huge shoutout to my sister, Courtney. She trusted me enough to let me borrow her daughter, Chevy—my adorable little niece—who plays such a special role in this mini documentary. Chevy’s innocence, her curiosity, and her pure energy brought so much life to this project.

Another person who’s been key in this story is Karoline Staszczyk. Her timing couldn’t have been more perfect—her arrival in my life coincided with when I started to really connect with owls and nature again, which was a huge turning point for me. Karoline isn’t just a friend; she’s like a breath of fresh air that calms the chaos inside. She’s brought me into the woods, introduced me to horses, and helped me reconnect with that wild, natural part of myself. I’ll never forget how she’s brought peace, love, and playful energy into my life—from childhood sleepovers during elementary school to long talks during high school and even as roommates. Our friendship started in sixth grade, pretty soon after Matt passed away. I remember lending her Matt’s sweater when she was cold—such a little kid moment, but it meant so much. That was a simple act, but it symbolized so much—connection, kindness, and the beginning of a bond that’s lasted years.

My siblings are the heart of my world—you guys know how much I love being your sister. Every single year, when we get together, it’s like a recharge of love, laughter, and memories. We always have the best conversations and inside jokes that keep us grounded and connected. I am so proud of Malec, Jenessa, and William—my little team, my “Four Musketeers,” as we call ourselves in our group chat. They express themselves through art, music, and their words—raw, real, and unfiltered. I’ve always believed in treating them as equals, respecting their feelings and letting them lead, rather than trying to control the situations. That’s what’s helped us stay close and communicate honestly—creating a safe space for us to listen, learn, and support.

William Graham has played a special role of our “uncle Matt,” who passed away too young at 21. The memories we hold of Matt are vivid and precious—countless days spent in the park, playing catch or exploring; special moments like race car outings and Barbie dates that painted a picture of a life filled with joy and innocence.

Our mother, Jenny, is a beacon of authenticity and love. Her personality is vibrant, expressive, deeply heartfelt. She wears her emotions openly—loving each one of us unconditionally.

Owl Eye Photography's full short documentary comes out tomorrow, May 11th, 2025 for Mother's Day.

The story on how I overcame darkness, how my family was both the provider of this darkness and light that we experience in this life. This is a story on how Owl Eye Photography got its name and how I found my footing with my true passion in my life.

I am very blessed for the people I have who have helped me along the way, this is truly a we community and and I am very grateful for everyone who has walked along my side.

⛰️🚁 Mount Charles Stewart for your picnic in the sky...⛰️🚁

Planning your elopement experience is not for you to worry about; during our initial meet and greet, we dive into who you both are to bring forth the feelings and emotions you want to see from your images. Your experience is planned around your personalities and activities you love to do together in order to bring your one-of-a-kind love story to the forefront of your memories.

Alex and Marie knew exactly what they wanted when it came to planning their picnic in the sky. A is a chef and had the whole basket ready to go from through .bar and .room - which made it all the way into the backcountry. Marie, this was the best day of her life. To hear the hardships she went through to feel completely free with Alex and the most beautiful she has ever felt on this day, was a sacred connection she made with herself and these images. I am very blessed to have been a part of their intimate experience.

We planned our excursion with where we had a guide for the backcountry and a helpful hand.

Playoffs are on 🏒🏆

It's about that time of the year again when cities get wild and everyone gathers to watch sports.

For me, it's an indicator that spring cleaning is happening, the house is quiet cause my husband's out watching the game, and I get to post cool photos about women who skate & play sports.

and I want to bring to life her upcycled dress that she hand-made for her wedding. While incorporating her personal touch to life as a hockey player and seamstriss, we had one opportunity for the window of Methane Bubbles. This was the one time in my life I showed fear to my client and friend. Who absolutely can laugh at me today. I thought it was the weirdest concept to be on ice over bubbles, and to be honest, it totally freaked me out.

Facts about Methane Bubbles:

Methane bubbles appear in lakes during a short seasonal window ❄️💧

Formed by decomposition of organic material beneath the lake 🧪🌿

Usually release during colder months or when ice melts 🧊➡️🌊

Bubbles rise rapidly, creating a mesmerizing visual 🌬️✨

Short-lived phenomenon as methane disperses into the atmosphere 🌍💨

A striking reminder of the hidden activity beneath the lake surface! 🔍🌊

Owl Eye Photography is delighted to announce that we are a Leave No Trace Photo Video Team. We work with independent artists who come together to support one another's businesses.

This video marks a two-year project where I wrapped up a series of collective works that are coming soon. It started as a spring concept, involving a few makeup artists, hair stylists, past clients, florists, vintage cars, and our amazing designer, who is an upcycler. All are local businesses from The Bow Valley and Alberta. We have finalized it with these words that represent what Owl Eye Photography stands for:

One Love Community - Through giving back and sharing.

Mother Nature provides various seasons, of which we all need to survive. As our environment vastly changes, we as artists have the opportunity to bring forth a new vision by educating and sharing experiences in a healthy manner that can elevate everyone's experience here on Earth.

This year, we have signed up with PlantCalgary, which gifts Calgarians trees as they sign up on their waitlist. We will be donating a tree for every wedding and elopement session booked with Owl Eye Photography that gets planted right in Calgary. They have a couple of acreages near Ponoka, rural Alberta, where they can plant trees if there are any left over after the season (which they haven't had to do yet). Our preference is to have the trees live in an urban environment where they can be individually cared for. Planting trees in the city actually helps prevent shade, provides homes to wildlife, and can offer local food based on the type of tree that is planted.

In Banff, Whitebark Pine is an endangered species. After I shared this knowledge, PlantCalgary is now growing Whitebark Pine seeds, since they couldn't find a nursery that cultivates them. We will see saplings in a couple of years and help give back to this endangered species!

Whitebark Pine grows in the sub-alpine areas of Banff National Park. As a keystone species, it provides food and habitat for wildlife, stabilizes mountain slopes, and holds onto the snowpack. This makes water available to other plants and prevents flooding in the spring.

We look forward to having you be a part of the change we can make in the world. What I can't do alone, we do together.

Have you ever had an elopement designer, creator, planner, photographer/videographer??...

This summer I am so stoked to share we are partnering up with The Alpine Club of Canada to design a special elopement for these two space martians - Anna and Cody. This really means, that the hut we will be at will be fully captured with photo and video that the club can use to promote as they see the value in where elopements are making their way into the depths of the forest and evening stays for the hiking experience to be made easier and efficient.

When Annna came to me this year wanting to create her day, we had absolutely zero plans. The key for me was asking questions about who they are and what they envision, which then I go into deep research and vision board planning. Upon which I shared ideas on a hut that is tucked away deep into the forest of British Columbia. Anna was blown away as it captured memories of her childhood, camping and growing up in Alberta, every detail matters, we are here to create a divine connection to your story and I am so excited to bring all the details together for their unique elopement.

I will share more in July once we have conquered the day, for now, this is a small intro into what you can expect from Owl Eye. When it came to their engagement photos and wanting to capture spring, I suggested the Muttart Conservatory as April is the awkward time of spring, where things are not quite blossomed yet. You won't find that issue here; in fact, we found something greater. A Mars exhibit. Anna loves the twilight, and you will catch us shooting stars the night of their elopement.

Owl Eye Photography is in a big transition - we are taking on MORE intimate/micro weddings and FEWER big weddings. We are an experience-based elopement and portrait photographer and videographer company.

If you are looking to create something completely one-of-a-kind, come chat with me, this is what I live for - bringing your vision and dream to life!

April 16th, 2025 - The first wedding of 2025

DJ and Meg flew all the way from Ontario to celebrate their intimate wedding of 10 + them. These are the types of settings where you soak in your close friends, your inner circle, and your parents.

A month before the wedding, I went to scout this cute location, Creekside Villa in Canmore, AB. Michal, who is a photographer and the core wedding planner at this villa, was so sweet to meet. He was also kind to work with, helpful and gentle towards the setup, and flexible with the timeline for us. We wanted to make the most of getting our couple to a location that was 1:30 mins away - we were able to achieve this because of how wonderful and flexible he was! Thanks, friend!

Ahhh, I love this—the winter days that add a bit of snow and contrast with the clouds. Meg is all about the mood, and we love moody; this was the perfect setting with silhouettes and deep greens in the trees. It was absolutely snowing and had cloud coverage on our way in to get ready; it cleared up right on the dot at 12:00 for the ceremony to begin. However, it made for a magical moment when Meg and her dad shared a "first look," and then during family portraits.

These guys were so special; they called Owl Eye Photography in October and booked instantly on the phone. They had been blown away by our Peyto Lake Session and had to have it, regardless of the snow. It was awesome to hear that they snowshoed, as I proposed that we would definitely have a winter day here. Megan was amazing, and she hiked in her dress to our viewpoint in the snowshoes.

After a first dance at Bow Lake, we made our way back to end the evening with sparklers and group photo of everyone coming together for the reception at a cute restaurant called Crazy W**d!

We always ensure comfort, and during your portrait session, we love having you join us for a ride to sit back, enjoy snacks and tea, and soak in the mountains. You see, when you travel to the Rockies, it is in our best interest to ensure you have an experience of a lifetime. We are here for you, with the gear, food, timeline structure, and that your vision will be met to a T for your once-in-a-lifetime day!

It was an honour to be apart of your journey and capturing your memories. Thank you for trusting us.
