Happy long weekend everyone! Hope you’ve been enjoying yours as much as we have! Yesterday was yet another day for us - honouring the beautiful L&B, a couple who could not be more deserving. Though the rain clouds paid us a short visit, they were sure to bring only good luck and enormous amounts of happiness were felt by all. A giant candy station, perfectly colour-coordinated bridal party outfits, and the cutest ring bearers and flower girls EVER, made for an A+ celebration! Special note of thanks to Natalie from the Beach House for her seriously stunning stationery, design, and decor skills! She is ah-mazing! & Shoutout to all the vendors who helped us with their “I do” day! .marie .a._limousines 😊

How is tomorrow September already!? 🤯 Weddings are still in full swing for the Heyday team - finishing off the month by celebrating T&B! A private property affair that mixed elegance and perfectly. A ceremony and cocktail hour overlooking Cordova Bay, then a rustic barn reception that blew every guest away. Bonus : The bride and groom could not have been a more duo. Let’s chat wedding guest attire! 💃 With so many different dress codes out there, how do you select the most appropriate outfit? Keep reading to find out ‘What to Wear to a Summer Wedding as a Guest’ ().

If the invitation says...
FORMAL - Men: Tuxedos, Women: Long, shimmery fabrics
SEMI-FORMAL - Men: Dark navy or grey suits, Women: Maxi dresses
CASUAL - Men: Khakis and suit jackets, Women: Floral, flowy dresses and sandals

For colours and fabrics, the only ones to steer away from are:
- Champagne or Beige (some exceptions apply)
- White (unless you’re the 👰‍♀️)
- Whatever shade the bridesmaids are wearing (makes sense, right?)
- Glitter (the focus shouldn’t be on you)
- Denim (too casual)

We’re officially halfway through our wedding season! Hooray! Hi friends! How was your weekend!? 😊 We were lucky enough to be on the Gulf Islands celebrating A&S! & When we say , we mean it - this wedding was 17 YEARS in the making! 😭 An afternoon affair that had unmatched views, out of this world vows, and basically every yard game ever made - it was the backyard BBQ of everyone’s dreams! A highlight of the day: The slideshow put together by the groom, followed by the most special day-of photo montage that left not a dry eye in the room - including us! Sigh! We are SO happy for you two! Shoutout to the vendors who helped us with their “I do” day! & all of the other vendors who don’t do the Instagram thing! 🤪 xo.

Tomorrow marks one year since R&A’s wedding day! Barb Walker (Owner)] always takes on one Heyday wedding a year & to close out our 2020 season, this was it! A private property event with a stellar view of Brentwood Bay for a couple who waited 4380 days - 12 years, people - to say their ’s. It was certainly worth the wait! Filled with personal details, hilarious & heartfelt vows and speeches, and lots of hand sanitizer, it was one heck of a day to remember forever! They even had a full feast to fill everyone’s tummies & a little bit of rain made for not only good luck, but a first dance under a rainbow. So special. Congrats lovebirds! Cheers to another year in the books and a lifetime more! xo.

1 year ago yesterday we were spending a gloriously sunny day at the Prestige, celebrating C&R. What a day, what a couple, and so grateful for all the vendors that came together and made this happen for them, while we were all still “figuring” out how the heck to do a pandemic wedding. 😂 The day started with a seaside ceremony under the gazebo, followed by a reception in the grand ballroom, and ended with a romantic first dance and sparkler send off. With less than 30 people, it made for a wonderfully intimate experience. Thank you both for letting us be a part of it! Congratulations on your first year of marriage and all the rest to come! xo.

Hope you had an awesome BC Day friends! ☀️ We know we did! The Heyday gals got to join the fabulous Barb Walker (Owner)] for a HOT weekend on Denman Island! We stayed in a storybook Bed & Breakfast, took in picturesque views at every venue (yes, there were multiple), and witnessed two breathtaking brides tie the knot (and ) with their loved ones. It was team bonding at its finest, and we loved every minute of it! & Just like that, we’re on to the next one! xo.

Today we reminisce on the most exquisite celebration that was last year’s August 1st wedding. A day-long Bilston Creek Farm event that was all about close family, friendships, and a love story. The weather, the venue, and the vendors were a dream. With the smell of lavender, tasty food and drinks, and to-die-for decor making it complete. We loved every second of watching these two gorgeous people get married. (I mean just look at them!) Happy Anniversary N&M - we are honoured to have been able to share your forever day with you. Cheers (once again) to a lifetime of happiness together! xo.

This time last year we were having a safe summer get-together at the Planners’ Supper Club hosted by ! 🧺 Held at , we gathered with fellow ladies from the Vancouver Island wedding industry for a fun physically distanced evening. We started with a glass of and a tour of the property, then each planner bubble got their own stylish picnic space thanks to , along with florals from to brighten up an already beautiful setting. We enjoyed individually boxed meals created by , refreshing wine, and ended the event with the yummiest of all time. It was the most wonderful way to spend a warm night in the midst of a wacky 2020! Count us in for a repeat any time! xo.

We’ve got the same look on our faces because we are officially in nonstop wedding mode! 👰‍♀️ From now until October we have and Heyday weddings every single weekend!
