🚨 FORT MCMURRAY – WE NEED YOUR VOICE! 🚨
River’s Edge Resort – a once-in-a-generation project that would bring massive benefits to our community – is at risk of being shut down due to a land use change, red tape and “Not In My Backyard” opposition.
After 4½ years of hard work, step by step with the Planning and Development team, a recent Land Use Bylaw change threatens to sterilize 117 acres of incredible riverside land — land that was meant to become a vibrant hub for connection, recreation, and healing.
🌿 WHAT IS RIVER’S EDGE?
A fully privately funded project including:
💍 A riverside Wedding & Event Centre
🏕️ A Family Campground
🌞 A Kids’ Camp (KCARE) supporting all kids – including those with medical complexities
🚶♂️ Outdoor trails, river access & community gathering spaces
This is about more than a development — it’s about building memories, growing roots, and giving families a reason to stay, play, and thrive right here in Wood Buffalo.
📅 MAY 27 IS DECISION DAY. This is our final shot. Council will vote, and your voice can make all the difference.

1️⃣ Speak at the Public Hearing on May 27 (6PM) – say your name and that you support Bylaw 25/012. That’s it!
