WEDDING SAVING TIP 💰
Based off our recent poll you wanted wedding budget tips, so here is one but you have to act fast because it goes into effect January 13, 2025
NEW POSTAGE RATES FOR 2025 💌
Effective January 13, 2025 single postage for a domestic letter (30 grams or less) will increase from $1.15-$1.44
I know, $0.29 might not seem like a lot. And you’re mostly right when some of your wedding items are in the thousands. But let’s break it down ⬇️
Most wedding invitations are over the 33 grams limit, and are sometimes unusual shapes. Once you start to weigh in those belly bands, wax seals, additional detail cards and thicker paper for those beautiful letterpress invitations, you’re at 2 or 3 standard stamps PER invitation.
And if you’re mailing out RSVP response cards, please include postage for those. So that’s another stamp added to the cost.
So let’s say you don’t need to go into the overweight stamps, and you can get away with 2 standard stamps for your invitation and 1 for the RSVP envelope. 3 stamps x $0.29 price increase = $0.87 INCREASE PER INVITATION. Let’s multiply that by 100 invitations, you’re at $87 extra just in postage.
So what do you do 2025 couples? Make sure to buy those stamps before the increase. Canada Post website has a larger selection on stamps, and as much as we love our Canadian beavers they might not match your wedding aesthetic.
These simple things leave room in the budget for things that you can actually enjoy .. like that upgraded champagne to pop in the morning or on the bus after you’re married 🥂🍾
