Yesterday, we learned of the passing of our friend and peer, Justin — also known as Fisher Price. Gone far too soon...
Justin was unapologetic and as Fish he was FIERCE. A Queen, a friend, a peer, an advocate, a fashionista, a creative, and a local Drag icon who's vision was always unique and showstopping. There are no comparisons.
We told them every chance we could...
Working with Justin was like working with a friend you've known your whole life. Easy to talk to and bounce ideas off of... they weren't just a Drag artist, they were a visionary.
Fish was there when we started MoJo Toronto and our FML Mondays Industry Night, always supporting and kiki'ing with us throughout our nearly 16 years of freindship. More recently, Justin brought our vision of a new Stud 54 party to life, designing the vintage poster and magazine themselves, which we spoke about continuing this summer... our next one will be overtly dedicated to their legacy.
Right now, our hearts weigh heavy. We wish we didnt have to say goodbye. We wish we had more laughs and hugs.
We miss your shine, Justin. Your unique way of making everyone laugh, and your long-lasting friendship you nourished. We will carry on thatbsparkle with every dancefloor we step on. You will be forever missed.
