Congratulations to Christine and Hyun on completing the Longest One-Day Bow Event 200 target challenge - with recurve bows. Christine and Hyun completed 10 laps of the 20 target course, 2.1 km per lap. Walking more than 21 kilometres with temperatures as high as 26 degrees Celsius with a humidex of 34, they each completed the challenge in approximately 7.75 hours. Had it not been for noon-hour lighting causing a one hour delay they would not likely have taken a break. Both maintained their enthusiastic determination through rain with smiles and laughter noted along the way. Attendees looked on as Christine and Hyun worked closer and closer to their goal. Congratulations on your accomplishments Christine and Hyun. Thank you for participating in the inaugural Longest One-Day Bow Event and for supporting Veterans and Everyday Heroes.

Congrats Craig E., winner of the 50/50

Mr. Jim Blak, Wellington Street Sportsmen’s Club President is the sponsor of the day on the final day of the countdown to the Longest One-Day Bow Event in support of Veterans and Everyday Heroes. Less than a day after submitting our request to host the event at WSSC to Secretary Jen Cameron, who forwarded our request to the executive for review, we had received WSSC’s approval. Mr. Blak proposed a meeting. At that meeting we were met with Jim’s full welcome and “make it happen” attitude. Jim’s get it done work ethic, approachability and openness to discussing ideas and offering feedback has helped lay the foundation for the LOBE shoot. While attending the event and enjoying WSSC you’re sure to see Jim touring and welcoming visitors.

Jim, thank you for your sponsorship, contributions, and support every step of the way.

When planning and preparing for the LOBE shoot Jen was the first person contacted at WSSC. Requests for club bookings have to be submitted to the Secretary. Jen has been with us along the way using her know how, know who, and vast array of knowledge and talents to support and contribute to the event. When attending the LOBE shoot be sure to say hi to Jen. She’ll be easy to find. Her friendly and welcoming demeanour is sure to be noticed.
