A while ago I was sitting outside with my husband when said he couldn’t believe there was now ‘word that rhymes with corn’ on Facebook. I didn’t believe him til he showed me his feed. There was a pornographic advertisement about a book with a cartoon photo of a young woman in a dress. Behind her was a man, she was sitting between his legs. This was her ‘stepbrother’.
His hand was wrapped around her head covering her mouth. Her eyes were huge, she looked TERRIFIED. Her dress was around her waist and his other hand was inside her 🐱. It was literal ASSAULT and it was an advertisement.
I’ve tried to advertise many times on Facebook, but every ad has been rejected because of the nature of my products. Facebook has to APPROVE an advertisement and they approved that ad.
I screenshot (screenshotted? Screenshoot?) the ad and posted it in my private VIP group to see if anyone else was seeing ads like that and discuss the hypocrisy and misogyny. Some had, some hadn’t. Everyone was shocked by the depiction in the cartoon. (Likely AI, tbh).
My post was deleted by fb with a warning that my group would be deleted FOR REPOSTING THE ADVERTISEMENT THEY APPROVED.
The other day I posted a funny image of a skeleton in a coffin surrounded by buzzing things. Vibes. Good Vibes.
And I get this notice in the picture shortly after.
This is why I don’t post on this business page often. Women are discriminated against on this app.
A cartoon of incest/assault is much more offensive to likely every single DECENT human than a silly picture of a skeleton surrounded by vibes.
