Jenna Makrides (she/her) is excited back with Knock Your Socks Off for its second year! Jenna is a Dartmouth comedian based out of St. John’s, Newfoundland and has been featured on stages all over this province, such as Karaoke Kops and your fadders fishing stage. She puts the number two in Two Idiots Comedy and has guest hosted for rooms like Fogged Up and Aw Jeez as well as hosted multiple fundraising events. She is thrilled to be back, and hopes you will bring ALL the socks!

Mike Fardy is a comedian, improviser, and filmmaker based in St. John's. Mike has toured his weird brand of absurd and (sometimes) poignant comedy all across Canada, performing improv, sketch, and stand-up in venues ranging from Arts and Culture Center theaters to truck stop parking lots. Fardy's unique comedic voice and infectious stage presence has earned him the title of St. John's 'Last Comic Standing' twice and he has been featured on Just For Laughs' Stand Up Atlantic album "Miss Totally Tubeuless."

It may not have the, uh, wacky hijinks possibilities of a truck stop, but we'd wager Wooden Walls Distilling is a little more cozy and intimate than the Arts and Culture center. Vanessa Matthews (she/her) is a contemporary and fusion belly dance artist based in St. John’s Newfoundland. She is the owner and instructor of Magpie Movement and the artistic director, co-founder, and principal dancer of Seraka Dance Company.

Dancing since 2007, she is identified by her strong musicality, subtle nuances, and fluid arm and hand work, culminating in an engaging stage presence. By day, Vanessa works in the insurance industry, and she can usually be found befriending animals or collecting old tea cups.

Josh Menchions is a passionate comedian and the founder of Standup NFLD, an initiative launched in 2024 to expand Newfoundland’s comedy scene, making it easier for audiences to discover shows and for comedians to connect with their community.

His weekly show, Last Minute Comedy, has become a local favorite, showcasing both established and emerging talent. As a contributor to the Canadian Association of Stand-up, Sketch and Improv Comedians (CASC), Josh works to strengthen Canada’s comedy industry through advocacy and support for comedians.

A supportive advocate AND hilarious, you don't want to miss Josh's appearance at Knock Your Socks Off (AGAIN!) on Saturday, November 16th.
