I had the pleasure of DJing a wedding in an open-air venue in Blenheim, Ontario. Timber Ridge Event Centre was absolutely beautiful.

Here is a quick recap of the day. You can see a bit of my DJ set-up, some heart-felt speeches from the fathers of both the bride and groom, and some dance highlights.

If you are getting married here, I'd love to be your DJ!

The siblings of the bride wanted to surprise the groom (and maybe embarrass the bride) with a survival checklist.

One of the bride’s sisters reached out to me to provide music for a special moment she planned. This was meant to be a silly trip down memory lane, but also to give the groom some tips on how to survive in their marriage. I had no idea what to expect as I prepared the […]

Starting off the dancing portion of a wedding with a large group photo is a great idea!

This is a great way to kick off the dancing portion of a wedding. After dinner and the special dances have concluded, get all of your guests to come to the dance floor. Announce that there will be a group picture being taken. As soon as the photographer has the shot, start the music. It’s […]

Here's a behind the scenes recap of a
wedding I did at Bogey's just outside of Sarnia.

I love DJing weddings at Bogey’s Inn and Venue. It is such a beautiful location just outside of Sarnia and the staff are absolutely wonderful here. Come with me behind the scenes as I show you how I set up my speakers, my smaller ceremony rig, and some of the features of the venue and […]

It was a warm one for this wedding, but a lot of fun.

It was a warm one for this wedding, but a lot of fun. First, I set up in the main hall for the reception and then I headed to a nearby backyard for the outdoor ceremony. I used a Hercules Starlight controller with Serato to provide the music, but I forgot the microphone stand and […]

Sing-alongs are a great way to close out a wedding DJ set. It brings the energy down and signals an end to the celebrations.

In the video clip attached, I am playing a song that is often requested at weddings.

I love cutting out the music during “Sweet Caroline” so you can clearly hear everyone yell, “Bah, bah, bah!”. It’s always a lot of fun for everyone in attendance. Unexpected moments like this really can really move a crowd.

Not only did they yell the lyrics with enthusiasm, one of the guests declared, “You’re the man.”

This was followed up by the groom saying,

“Hey everybody, let’s thank the DJ for doing a great job!”

This was followed by a group cheer, more singing, and some energetic dancing to close out the night.

This small moment really made my night.
