Today and tomorrow's special - the Buddha Bowl. This is a lot of steamed veggies with brown rice and your choice of sauce. The sauce options are sh*take miso gravy or lemon tahini. The meal is $15.99. You can add chicken or beef for $5, or tofu for $2.50. The meal in the picture is my lunch and has some chicken added (it is under the veg) and the miso gravy. See you in a bit - I am going to eat this NOW! I'm so excited!

Quite a few people found our meals too big, and preferred not to have a large side with their sandwich or burger or entree. Here is an alternative side option. Instead of the other free sides, a person can get one regular drink (pop, coffee, tea) and one dainty or cookie as their side. Or two drinks or two treats. We are trying to be flexible to meet your needs.

OK, so this is a new addition to the menu. We are trying to settle on a name for it. The history is that Amber wanted a mushroom burger, Veronica played with different versions of a mushroom burger until she showed us this one. So the name proposals are:

1) mushroom swiss burger (descriptive);
2) the Amberger (which I think is funny, and gives some credit for the idea).
3) the Amberburger (a bit longer, also funny).
4) the Veramburger. (also funny and credit to everyone).
5) one that you make up.

Votes for the name of your choice please. I am collecting votes in person too, so the most votes on here may not win, but lets have a bit of fun with this!

One for the vegans, one for the carnivores, both delicious!

Oh - this was my lunch Thursday - I added bacon to it. I highly recommend that addition.

Thank you to Sherwood Coop for their $1000 donation to Munch. Community support is what allows us to do what we do the way we do it. I've been a member of Sherwood Coop for awhile now and I love their stores, the service I get and the fact that they treat their staff and their members really well. Thanks again!

Hmmm. There is grant we have access to that is for activities that create social opportunities for seniors. part of the vision for Munch is to eventually turn it into a hub for inclusive activities, including things that will appeal to seniors.

If there are any seniors who would be interested in volunteering to create some social events - for example a weekly karaoke night, or a chair tai chi group, or a bridge club, cribbage tournament, etc, please let us know. If there is interest, we can create a plan, get the grant to cover expenses and then have some fun!

There could be a part time job in this for someone too. We'll be looking for people to help come up with the ideas, then some volunteers to help run the events, and probably one part time coordinator to make it all run. We can give more hours to our team members serving food and drinks to the people attending. Win win wini!

Happy birthday Kaitlyn! Kaitlyn is the one on the right with the bright t-shirt. The team took a break to share a birthday treat with her. Several team members came in on their day off to share this with her. No candles, but we sang happy birthday and the team visited for quite awhile.
