Today is the McLean Scouts’ Bottle Drive. Each Wedding season they load up 2 horse trailers full of recyclables, which are often donated by Brides & Grooms, as well as all of Country Acres’ mix bottles. Lots of Weddings = Lots of Bottles. Thank you to our Brides & Grooms who supported the McLean Scouts, who serve our children, as well as many surrounding communities.

Morgan & Jordan recently visited Country Acres to celebrate their 1st Anniversary on the farm, walking hand in hand to The Secret Meadow where they exchanged Wedding Vows and to the Event Tent where so much joy, laughter, food, drinks, music, dancing & hugs filled the walls one year ago. The afternoon included a visit with Max, with gifts of Morgan’s homemade Raspberry Jam and chocolate. REMEMBER: Our Brides & Grooms are always welcome to visit Country Acres!

Uncle Wilf grew up on this farm, now known as Country Acres. His Parents (my Grandparents) settled on this land in 1942, where our Big Red Barn was at the centre of their shipping milk and cream operation. Then land was broken and crops were planted. Our family went from WHEAT to WEDDINGS! You often see Wilf back at Country Acres as Head of Zero-Turn Mowing, Handy-Man To Do Lists, and maintenance of Betsy, our 1928 Model A Ford. Yesterday was a beautiful fall day for a cruise around the farm.

Dan & Janelle were married at Country Acres on September 27, 2025. Yesterday Dan suggested to his wife that they go for a drive. To Janelle’s surprise, it wasn’t just a trip down memory lane, but a romantic walk down the path to the Secret Meadow at Country Acres, where she & Dan had exchanged personally written marriage vows in front of their family & friends on their Wedding Day. They read those vows to each other again yesterday to celebrate their love for each other . . . at a venue they love. ♥️
