Blooms at the Bend - Flower Farm A floral division of Blacksheep Acres | Seasonal blooms + on-farm workshops in rural SK That first year, I sold some bouquets.

Hi, I’m Jen, the heart and hands behind Blooms at the Bend-a small flower farm nestled in the only curve (bend) on the country road we call home in rural Saskatchewan. This all began as a little experiment: just me, a patch of soil, and a curiosity about growing cut flowers. By the second, I was hosting bouquet making workshops and offered bouquet subscriptions. Last year slowed down due to illnes

s, but it gave me clarity on how much I love doing this: sharing the joy of fresh flowers and simple beauty with others. Now, heading into my fourth season, Blooms at the Bend will be blooming into more and offering:
-you-pick days
-bouquet bars for events
-workshops/creative gatherings
-seasonal bouquet subscriptions

This is a place to connect with nature and creativity. I look forward to sharing it with you!

It’s been a while! I’m not much of a content creator, but I’m still here! 😁

Hard to believe there was snow only a week ago. Last season I already had my cool-weather-loving plants in the ground... this year I’m just beginning the dreaded hardening off process. By mid-week, some of these will finally be planted!

There are over 500 plants in this photo, with even more still in the house under grow lights.

Pro-tip for my fellow gardeners: If you’re picking up plants from a greenhouse, don't forget to harden them off! Greenhouse plants are "soft"—if you take them straight from a cozy greenhouse and put them in the ground, they’ll get windburned and sun-scorched, and you’ll be sad when they look like 💩. Give them a few days to get used to the real world first, beginning with short spurts in the sun and gradually longer till its full days!

I hope everyone is able to get out and enjoy this awesome weather! ☀️☀️☀️

Winter planters, oh how I love thee!
If you're an IG follower, you know I'm a bit of a fanatic, but for everyone else...
You can use any evergreens (like the ones that stab you every time you mow the lawn😉) and add all sorts of fun stuff like pine cones, Christmas-themed picks, bows and lights.
I've been doing this for a few years now, and what started as one humble planter has turned into six😅. My go-to ingredients? Scotch pine, blue spruce, creeping cedar, red dogwood branches, and white poplar sticks. And okay, I confess, I bought some red berry picks and pine cones, but hey I can reuse those for next year! They last till spring, and it's a great excuse to get outside. So go ahead, get creative, and remember, if your soil is frozen, just add some hot water and you're good to go!

Happy arranging!

Happy Tuesday! The days are getting shorter, kids are back in school, combines everywhere, it's really feeling like fall. It's bittersweet for me as I love the fall season but know it's only a matter of time and the flower season will be coming to an end 👎

Flowers🌸 or bouquets💐 are still available by order! Just text or message me.
As well as bouquet and pumpkin workshops! I'm available most Saturdays and Sundays and will be able to do some weekdays.

This is a very busy time of year for me as I have 2 kids playing football in two different towns and between practices and games I'm on the road a lot but in my down time you can find me in the flower garden!
