Dear Sam,
I recently saw a reel that said
"Everyone talks about the friends they have known their whole life, but not enough people talk about the friend you made while you're both trying to figure out adulthood"
You know the one, there's no way I didn't send that reel to you, because for me, you are that person.
It feels like a really cruel joke that in the last few years we have hardly spent any time in the same province, but still, our friendship has prevailed. There have been some very high highs and low lows but no matter where we were, we always had each other. Not in a text and call every day kind of way, but the kind of way that you just know that person is there for you and would drop everything if you needed them.
I'll never forget that random early morning phone call 4 years ago. You were working a full time job and shooting weddings on the weekend and I could see your light fading, something wasn't cutting it for you. When I called and asked (ok ok, maybe told..😂) you to quit your job and come work for me, I had complete confidence that no matter what, we could do it. Don't get me wrong, there were hard times, the whole world shutting down the same week you started wasn't ideal, but still we pushed through! We shared a common goal, do whatever we needed to do so you could happily enjoy maternity leave with your baby one day. Which brings me to Tea🤍
First, I love her so much. She is the light in so many peoples lives and like most, I will be loving her from Ontario. I'm so grateful to be in her life and call all 4 of you, family. Anyone who knows you, knows you were meant to be a mom. I know it hasn't been easy, but you are doing an amazing job, Sam. She is so lucky to have you and I'm so proud of you all. Watching you transition from a girlfriend (even though every wedding season I felt like I was stabbing you while you waited for that big question 😂) to a fiance, to a wife and now a mother, has truly been one of my favourite things in my life.
