Happy wedding season everyone!! Congrats to all the bride's and groom's getting married this year!!

I know there is lots of planning going on so just wanted to make you aware of some changes to legislation around weddings!

There have been a few changes to The Solemnization of the Marriage Act as of May 1st, 2018

*** It is now called The Marriage Act

****Marriage Licences now expiry 3 months after being purchased! So , please make sure you are not getting your license to early. If you purchased your marriage license prior to May 1st, 2018 the expiry is still one year!

*****Effective May 1, 2018 both bride and groom will need to apply and provide their own documents. Both parties will need to swear/affirm their own information. Can no longer be one person obtaining the license. (Please contact access Nova Scotia for more information)
