It takes a Village to create a super fun sparkle party. Art Party has been successful due to the overwhelming support that this little town has offered. Looking back over the past events and the long list of contributors who have come together sharing what they have; helping to create a celebration for our neighbours.

Art Party would especially like to thank, for their contributions to our event Glitter Gangsters. In no particular order: Tyler Leeson , Autumn Betty'z Edje Boutique , Home Hardware, Jennifer Cross of Jennifer Chocolates, Gary Hall, Dan Watt for the discounted rooms at The Leland, Coleman MacIntosh for the burn barrels, Shelly White Arrow Lakes Theatre , Trisha Albertine What Brewing on Broadway, Tasha Hall, Jan Van Gold, Jay Ray, Avery Aversive , Alok, Tracy Mihajic , Aeon Crux, Sick Tricks, Robb Lunzmann , Prima Materia Gallery Deb Rushfeldt, Kate Tupper, Christine Sunbeam, Deirdre Dore, Buck Addams, Rhandi Sandford, Gail McMartin, Don Mabie, Mark Anthony Jacobson, Megan Leitch, Jadean Rathgeber , Overwaitea Foods, The Village of Nakusp, Mark Sloane, Carla Trenholm, Lee Orr Photography , Dar Adair, Jon Negrych, Dylan Carr, Nancy Bone, Laurie McKenzie, Joanne Alaric for the ice, The Cabin in Revelstoke, Shon's Bike and Ski, The Esso and Alex Marshall for the tipis.

And forever thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who make this party special; by not only giving their time serving beverages, painting faces and checking wristbands, but also for dressing up and helping everyone get in the mood.

We had a lovely time, and from the photos, it looks like all you Glitter Gangsters did too. Thank you for coming out and supporting us and in turn helping encourage the creation of fun events in the Nakusp area. Until next time, keep your sparkle bright

Leave your carbon-based body behind. Let your surroundings guide your thoughts. Light cycles simulate cosmic cycles. Systems blink on. As with fractals, the closer we look the more detail we see. Every tiny fragment of swirling debris holds a place for our imaginations.

Heavenly Bodies is a steel and resin illuminated rocket planetarium. An interactive experience that includes a small space to explore as well as digital sound design by Electric Stardust: Robb Lunzmann and Jon Negrych. Its cosmic patterns seek to connect us to our origins.

Mystery, Connection, Awe, Beauty, and Disequilibrium. Scientists tell us that everything our physical bodies is made of was once a star. This concept illuminates the connections between ourselves and our environments. We are but a small part of a huge system. This installation will provide an opportunity to connect three dimensionally with our origins; it possesses the alchemic visual power to transport the viewer back into their heavenly bodies; to become “star stuff”. Unlike planetariums which focus on the practical, this structure’s details emulate the curved lines of a rocket, enticing spectators inside with its potential for travel.

The creation of Heavenly Bodies was funded by a B.C. Arts Council Major Project Grant. Executed here in Nakusp in a secret lab called Kate Tupper Studio Many friend's hands contributed to making this space ship fully operational. And this time it actually was 'rocket science'
