Marcel David-Joseph LeBlanc, professionally known as DJ Molex or simply Molex was born on October 9th, 1991 in Moncton, New-Brunswick, Canada. In 1996 he started attending École Abb
ey-Landry in Memramcook, New-Brunswick where he eventually took up singing, acting and dancing in his youth participating in the school choir, multiple plays and dance competitions sparking a lifelong passion for the performing arts. Later attending École Mathieu-Martin in Dieppe, New-Brunswick where he found his love for music as a member of the student radio and host of the lunch time radio show. For these efforts Marcel won multiple awards for his commitment to the performing arts between 2006 and 2009. Professional career: (2013 - Now)
After a few years away to attend college he eventually started performing again locally in Moncton, New-Brunswick as an opening DJ and streaming sets online in the early 2010s, eventually rebranding himself as DJ Molex in January 2013 and releasing his debut collaboration “Slave Factory” with Montreal producer and multi-instrumentalist PhilBOLD. For over a decade he has displayed his versatility and reliability performing at weddings, proms, teen dances, corporate events, community events and even world class sporting events like the IIHF World Juniors and STIHL Timbersports. During his career Molex has held some impressive residencies, regular rotations and special guest spots at festivals, nightclubs, pubs and lounges while also occasionally featuring as backup MC and DJ for multiple east coast rappers on tours and for special performances. Some notable appearances include being the tour DJ for Cavy’s Energy Thief Tour (2023) , Opening DJ for Pineo & Loeb on the “WICKED” and “Good Vibe Feeling” tours (2022), Headline DJ for the River of Pride 20th anniversary concert (2019), Opening DJ for Randy & Mr. Lahey LIVE (2017), Headline DJ for Atlantic Fashion Expo (2016) and showcase at Music NB Awards (2014). With over 330 shows at 90 venues in 35 cities across the Maritimes and Quebec.
