After this wedding, Karina started Kilig Events & Design, and asked Erika to run it with her.

They were scared. They didn’t know what to expect. But had they not taken that leap of faith, they would not have been able to do 50+ weddings/events and counting! We are so and !

Thanks for sending this ! Thank you to you and .manzanares for trusting us, even though we were newbies!

Do you want to add a personal touch on your wedding day? Or maybe, you have a secret creative talent? 😉

Here are things you can DIY for your wedding:

STATIONERY: You can make your own save-the-date cards, wedding invitations as well as your place cards especially if you love doing crafts. If you have no ideas on the design yet, you can check out Pinterest for inspiration!

WEDDING FAVOURS: Let your family and friends enjoy something handmade instead of giving them something that they won’t ever use after your wedding. Consider giving them your favorite homemade snacks or your favorite drink and attach a personalized thank you note on each of them!

DÉCOR ITEMS: There are so many options and step-by-step tutorials online that can help you create wedding decorations like your centrepieces and table numbers. You can add photo frames, candles, different sizes of vases and bottles or even use old books for your centerpieces. It just depends on your wedding theme and colour palette so you need to decide on those first. You can also consider sourcing your décor items from thrift stores and/or in Facebook marketplace and wedding groups, you'll be surprised to discover great stuff without spending too much! Lastly, if you have a friend who can do calligraphy and arts, ask them to help you make your welcome signages and seating charts.

Doing-it-yourself can help you save money but it requires tons of effort and work. Be sure you did a lot of research first and have plenty of time to finish all your crafts to not burden and overwhelmed yourself a week prior your wedding!

What other things you can DIY? Share your ideas below!

Winter weddings are beautiful but the cold weather can sometimes be brutal! If you are planning to have a magical winter wedding, these are accessories that you can consider without having to sacrifice style:
❄️ Cape - If you are going for a royal themed wedding, these capes will give you the feels of a princess!
❄️ Mittens - No more holding your bouquet with cold hands! These cute mittens will make you warm and comfortable.
❄️ Scarf - You can wear a stylish scarf that compliments your colors! And when you do get cold during your reception, you can use it as a blanket!

What other winter bridal accessories can you think of?

What is the Prosperity Dance? 💸

The Prosperity Dance, or also known as the Money Dance, is a cultural tradition at many Filipino wedding receptions, where guests pin money on the newlywed's while they dance. In Philippine culture, the money dance is to wish good fortune on the couple and to provide financial assistance to them so they can establish their new life together.

Will you include the Prosperity Dance at your reception?

Wedding favors are great way to show your appreciation to your family and friends who celebrate with you on your special day.

If you are stuck in deciding which one to give to your guests, here are some great ideas you can start with:

Something useful. You can also come up with something that your guests can use even after your wedding. Customized sanitizers and masks are good ideas especially in this time.

Something edible. You can consider giving your guests something that they can enjoy eating or drinking—surely this will make them happy. Try giving out sweets, donuts, honey, wines or even your favorite bubble tea.

Something you can DIY. If you love crafts and would love to give out something that you made using your own hands, you can always do-it-yourself. These are great ideas especially when you are already tight on your budget but still want to give something to your family and friends.

Something about you. Your wedding is all about you so it’s always a nice idea to give something that has importance to both of you like your favorite snacks when you watch a movie or your favorite drinks when you go on a date. It can also be related to a hobby that you both enjoy to do or to a place that has significance to your relationship.

Anything is fine as long as it’s about you! 🙂

Pag ibig - It's a Tagalog word for "love".
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are many Tagalog words for love, but this one in particular is a passionate love for your beloved. The kind of love the makes you feel complete and safe. It's also the kind of love that inspires you to work hard to keep your relationship strong and not let anything interfere with it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ang pag ibig ay hindi lamang basta emosyon na nararamdaman, kung hindi isang desisyon na dapat panindigan.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Translation: Love is not merely an emotion, but a decision to be upheld.

What are some of your favourite Tagalog "love" words?

Hey GROOMS! Having a hard time choosing a gift for your bride?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here are some ideas you can give to your future wife:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
JEWELLERY – Jewelries like bracelets, necklace, earrings and watches are popular and usually the traditional gifts. Your bride will definitely like them as these can be easily worn during your wedding day.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
TICKETS – You can also surprise your bride by giving her a ticket to her favorite Disneyland park, a plane ticket to her dream destination country, or even a concert ticket to her top favorite artist.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
COLLECTIBLES – If you want to choose a present that is a little out of the box, you can give her something that she likes to collect like animal stuff toys, books, albums or even shoes. She will definitely appreciate it especially those collectibles that she's been eyeing to buy or hard to find.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
PHOTOBOOKS - If your bride loves taking photos and a big fan of sentimental gift, take time to collect your memories together and turn it into a customized photobook. It may seem to be a lot of work but she will definitely love it as she will get to reflect and reminisce your precious times together! Just remember to advise her maid of honor to ready a handkerchief when she starts crying!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Remember, the purpose of exchanging gift is not to spend a lot of money but to give something meaningful --- even giving a handwritten letter is more than enough to make her heart skip a beat and shed a happy tear!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What other gift ideas you can suggest? Or What did you receive on your wedding day from your groom?

• Globe Décor - If you are a couple that loves travelling, this globe guest book will be the perfect décor to add to your receiving table and to keep a memorable keepsake. (https://amzn.to/3jyUsg2)

08/25/2021

Weddings are one of the most important celebrations in life. As amazing as it sounds, it can also cause some financial stress. Here are some tips when preparing for your wedding:

SET A BUDGET & STICK TO IT - There are many aspects to a wedding from music, venue, photos, etc. Decide what’s most important. Yes, you should have the best photos, food, and experience, but having a budget and not going over is important. TIP: Attend wedding shows to score discounts or promos 😉

AVOID GETTING A LOAN - Remember, your wedding is only ONE day. Money can be a major stressor on any relationship, and you don’t want to start your marriage with debt. Having the extra cash can make you feel like you can go for the upgraded packages, but remember that getting a loan also means interest. Imagine still paying for your wedding AFTER your wedding day? 🤔

DIY & GO DIGITAL - DIY can save you $, but make sure you have enough time, so start early! Invitations & guestbooks can be costly to print. You could find some promo codes/discounts, but why not go digital? Create a wedding website or FB event so you won’t need to hand out paper invitations. Or, print a few so you can give to close family and friends.

SAVE FOR YOUR BIG DAY! It’s easy to put things on our credit cards these days, but it won’t be as easy when preparing for your wedding. Don’t spend money you don’t have. It will take a lot of self-control and discipline. You could open a separate joint bank account, so both of you have access and see what’s coming in. We recommend doing this before you get engaged 😉

It’s not a great feeling to have to make sacrifices, but we also don’t want to start married life with debt from the wedding. Let the spending for the wedding day be done BY the wedding day! Agree?
