Walking this journey as an artist, Clayton has learned a lot about himself and the arts. Of Cree and Dakelh ancestry, he draws inspiration from the teachings of the land, animals, water, and sky.

These teachings are reflected in the Lantern Boxes featured in our art collection. Clayton carved two unique pieces: one depicting a Heron, often associated with patience, observation, and a strong connection to coastal environments, and the other an Eagle, symbolizing leadership, strength, and vision.

These pieces add warmth and soft ambient light to any setting. We are honoured to represent Clayton’s work and teachings through our art collection and to incorporate these beautiful pieces into the spaces we help create.

The Braiding Knowledges Canada 2026 Gathering brought together Indigenous leaders, researchers, and Knowledge Keepers from across Canada. Hosted at Wanuskewin in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the gathering created space for Indigenous and western perspectives to come together for meaningful dialogue, reflection, and connection.
