In a flock full of blackbellies, be Wooly 🐑✨
We love our Blackbelly breed of sheep for their hardiness and great mothering instincts!
Their downfall is they are flighty by instinct and even the more tame and friendly ewes are standoffish when there's new things (like a flower covered archway or more often a handling chute) within 1000ft from them.
This is where Wooly comes in to be the star of the show! She's not afraid of anything and follows us like a dog - but she's bonded enough to the rest of the ewes that they also (cautiously) follow her. While this makes for handy help on photo day it also takes a lot of the stress and panic out of when we need to move sheep into a chute or handling system to provide fly control, dewormers, sort sheep into different groups, or general health checks.
So while we are primarily a Blackbelly flock, Wooly and her fellow wool breed offspring are generally the ones featured in day to day photos on our page and that's why, they're just more natural camera hogs!
