🍁🦃 Happy Thanksgiving weekend from the Kinmount Legion! 🦃🍁

Let us be reminded of just how much we have to be thankful for. ❤️

We’re especially grateful for our Veterans and those who have served our country, whose sacrifices have helped provide us with the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy today.

We’re also incredibly thankful for our wonderful volunteers, members, and the entire Kinmount community. Your kindness, generosity, and continued support are what make our Legion such a special place.

As we gather with family and friends this weekend, let’s take a moment to appreciate the little things, cherish the time spent together, and remember those who may be spending the holidays away from their loved ones.

From all of us at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 441, we wish you and your families a safe, happy, and wonderful Thanksgiving! 🍂🧡

Lest We Forget. ❤️

Just a little update from the Kinmount Legion Branch 441, our Friday BBQs will be wrapping up a little earlier than planned this year, which means there will be no more BBQs for the remainder of the season.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who stopped by for a burger or sausage, supported the Legion, and spent their Fridays with us! ❤️

And of course, a big thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who helped make the BBQs happen each week. We couldn’t do it without you!

🧘‍♀️💃 Chair Yoga Dance — Every Friday starting October 16th) at the Kinmount Legion! 💃🧘‍♂️

There is NO CHAIR YOGA OCTOBER 9th!

Looking for a gentle, refreshing and fun way to start your Fridays?

Come try Chair Yoga Dance at the Kinmount Legion!
Every Friday morning at 10:00 AM, we gather for a relaxed class that combines traditional chair yoga with breathwork, gentle movement and accessible dance movements choreographed to popular music! 🎶

Most movements can be done while sitting, with some options to stand using a chair for support. Standing is always optional, making the class adaptable for people with different abilities and physical limitations.

Chair yoga is more than just exercise. Research suggests that chair yoga and other chair-based exercise programs can support physical function, mobility and strength in older adults (Galantino et al., 2012; Klempel et al., 2021). PubMed Research has also found that chair yoga may help reduce pain and fatigue and improve gait speed in older adults with lower-extremity osteoarthritis (Park et al., 2017).

Chair Yoga Dance also gives you a chance to move to music, socialize, have some fun and connect with others. Each class starts with breathwork and a gentle warm-up before moving into the dancing, and finishes with a few moments of mindfulness and reflection. 🧘‍♀️✨

This class may be perfect for you if you:

--> Want to move more without feeling like you're doing a traditional workout
--> Appreciate movements that can accommodate physical limitations
--> Enjoy moving to music
--> Want an opportunity to exercise, socialize and have fun!

No yoga or dance experience is needed. Just come as you are, move at your own pace and enjoy yourself! ❤️

🌺 We Remember 🌺

A special addition went up in Kinmount today. ❤️

A Veteran remembrance banner honouring Gunner John H. McGrath, Royal Canadian Artillery, WWII, has now been installed in our community.

These banners are a meaningful way to keep the stories and service of our local Veterans visible, not only during Remembrance season, but every day. Seeing their faces and names throughout our community reminds us that the names on our cenotaph represent real people, families, sacrifices and stories that deserve to be remembered.

A big thank you to those involved in getting the banner installed today. We’re very proud to see our local Veterans honoured in Kinmount. 🇨🇦

We will remember them. 🌺
