When you work in hospitality, getting everyone in the same place at the same time is basically a miracle.

This month’s Community Spotlight takes us into the kitchen with Sai from Wildling. 👨🏻‍🍳

For Sai, hospitality is where creativity and people come together. He loves taking an idea, turning it into something on a plate, and watching a guest experience it for the first time. But it’s the team behind the scenes that really makes it special.

There’s something about the energy of a busy service when everyone is locked in, communicating, pushing each other, and somehow making it all work.

After spending time in fine-dining kitchens in Switzerland, Sai developed a curiosity for food that goes far beyond the kitchen. Food and travel are always on his mind, and apparently almost any conversation can become a discussion about where to eat next. 👀

He’s equally passionate about the leadership side of restaurants, especially building strong teams and creating the kind of kitchen culture people genuinely want to be part of.

And now there’s another reason to celebrate him! Sai has officially been named a 2026 finalist for Okanagan’s Finest: Culinary Excellence. 🥂
