Hey there!👋🏻 I know it’s been awhile😅

I’ve been busy with life, enjoying the new home and country living (hard to believe I’ve been here a year now!), focusing on my healing, and got some news.

I had hip surgery right before Christmas (four procedures) and healing has been going very well. It’s a long recovery but one more month to go!

In the midst of all this, we decided to adopt a third cat (yup I hit crazy cat lady status🤣). Simon joined the family officially last month.

Okay the news part: this past year I really focused on where I’m living and rediscovering who I am. During that time, I realized I truly missed being in recreation and working special needs. So after research and behind the scenes, I have officially launched Reimagine Recreation

Reimagine Recreation provides 1:1 community recreation support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Huron County and surrounding counties. I’m really excited for this new venture as it brings together my passions!

For what’s in store with Blossoming from Within, I’m not sure. I’ve had to hit the pause button on this and hope to circle back when the time is right. Thank you though for your support with Blossoming from Within and feel free to follow along the new adventure☺️

Hey there!👋🏻

It’s been a little while since being on here.

I unintentionally took a break from Blossoming from Within. Moving took a lot, and I’ve also been trying to enjoy the weekends and exploring without having to feel like “hang on I need to capture this for social!”

The other month we also found out I am having hip surgery this year (right before Christmas it turns out) and so we’ve been enjoying exploring and loving every moment of Huron County.

I have found my home for sure.

So what is next for Blossoming from Within? Well during my recovery time, I’m going to work on a plan that works for me while also sharing what this beautiful county has to offer.

What does a Breakaway day look like?

This past Saturday my partner and I decided to Breakaway for a day!

✨First we went for a bike ride at Pinery Provincial Park. Beautiful trails to explore and affordable prices for rentals. We will be back for kayaking! We even brought our own picnic lunch.
✨Next we headed to Hessenland Inn and Schatz Winery for a well deserved glass of wine.
✨We continued up the highway to Goderich.
✨Final stop on the way home was delicious apple fries from Farmers Dell

A day full of adventure and exploring. We chose activities we like and wanted to do. Little bit was planned ahead and the rest was spur of the moment.

Hi there👋🏻

I’ve been noticing some new faces so I thought I take a moment and reintroduce myself.

My name is April and I am the Founder and Coordinator behind Blossoming from Within.

I escaped the city life and traded it in for beautiful Huron County and country living.

I created breakaways to encourage adults to try new leisure activities but to also escape their hustle and bustle, explore somewhere new, and to socialize.
