I often get asked why I decided to open my business - where my inspiration comes from. While many of you who come in regularly know the story, many don’t. It’s incredibly personal to me.

Here’s the significance behind our name and a little around why I do what I do now:

For 20 years, the world of corporate marketing, strategy & business leadership granted me the opportunity to see the world, meet the most incredible people & gain experiences that I’ll never forget.

But then, my soul dog, Bogart, got sick & it made me look at life differently. Life is short… the moments with those we love… limited.

So things started shifting. I began planning a different path. A slower, more purposeful life, surrounded by nature, by my dogs & the moments that matter with my family & friends. Moments to breathe.

We moved away from the hustle & bustle & were surrounded by nature, sunsets & time with my nieces & nephews.

Bogart, a defiant & stubborn little dude, knew EXACTLY what he, Trafford & I needed. He would force us everyday to sit out on the back lawn & take 10 minutes to breathe, stare up to the sky & breathe again. He wouldn’t move. He was healing us.

When he passed, I was devastated, but was somehow determined to share the lifestyle Bogart taught me how to live with others.

I created House of Bogart as a dedication to the life Bogie knew I needed to start living…slower, more purposeful, comfortable, cozy & surrounded by those we love - human or furry!

Helping others to curate that life for themselves is why I do what I do now. I believe everyone’s home should be that safe space for them. And when you come into see us, you’ll find both Trafford (Bogart’s brother) & I carrying that purpose forward.
