Memories of a Beautiful Awurudu Dance – 2025 ✨

This year’s Awurudu dance was truly special—not just for its beauty, but for the spirit behind it. What made it even more meaningful is that the choreography was created by a passionate volunteer, not a professional artist.

Choreographed by Malith Perera, whose journey is just as inspiring—having worked as a Marine Engineer and now serving as a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer.
Despite not being a professional dancer, his deep passion and dedication brought this performance to life in such an authentic and heartfelt way.

Raised in a Catholic background while embracing Buddhist culture and traditions, Malith brings a unique perspective that beautifully reflects in his understanding of traditional dance.

Cheers to Malith for creating such a graceful and memorable choreography. Your passion truly made this performance unforgettable! 🌼💃

We are excited to invite you to the Guelph Multicultural Festival this Saturday, June 14th at 7 PM, where around 40 talented Sri Lankan kids will take the stage to perform beautiful Sri Lankan Traditional Dances! 💃🕺
We are proud to announce that this is the second time our Guelph New Year Dance Teams will be performing at this wonderful festival! 🎉
