First getaway of the season and I must say this is the best parking job ever!! 5 cars all tucked in and now covered in a lot of ice. Luckily power stayed on all weekend and they are all relaxing not wanting to head home to the crap show of life at home with no power, lol.

Showing off a few of the beautiful quilts made last week. These ladies accomplished so many projects, and one even deconstructed a hoodie to add Halloween fabric to it, so cool!!
Love seeing you all again and looking forward to seeing you again in spring 2025.

Vicky's Workshops did a presentation of her beautiful bags at the Barrie Kempenfelt Quilters Guild and everyone loved it. I am looking forward to taking some workshops with her. Anyone interested in doing that with me sometime this summer?

For those of you who don’t know me, beyond chatting up a storm, delivering dinner and making sure you have a wonderful time here at GG. I have a son, who has always loved reading, but realized that there is not a lot of books out there for young teenage boys to choose from. He decided he wanted to write a book back in high school, and he has worked diligently on writing a book for the past few years. He has disciplined himself to get up at 4:30 am, write for for an hour before going to work, he has spent many many hours, writing, rewriting, changing, adding more words, taking out words etc and this week his dream finally came true. He has published his first book, it is geared towards young teenage boys, and yes, I have read it and of course I thought it was a fabulous story.

I found myself reading it and always thinking , “wow my kid wrote this”, it’s very hard to describe the feelings I have. I’m so proud of him, and of course I ordered lots of copies to give as presents.

The quirky quilters have left the building. This group of infectious, fun loving gals, got so many projects done even while filling up the recycling bin ( not with water bottles). Lol.
They always leave me a space to quilt with them, and I always learn a lot.
The time always flies by too quickly, when you enjoy each other’s company. Can’t wait to see you all again in the spring.

Hard to believe this was the 10 th time these Quirky Quilters attended girlfriend quilting getaways.
I had the pleasure of sewing with them for a few days, lots of machines humming, projects started and finished, laughs, games, chocolate covered jube jubes, great conversations and a few visits with jack. ( the seam ripper)
