I know its been crickets over here, but my littlest IRISH babe went ahead and grew up on me, so I'll be back to pouring my heart and soul into my passion and I just can't wait to see you all again!!

I want to express a heartfelt thank you to those who have contacted me (messages/texts/phone calls), those who haven't forgotten (because I am terrible at social media) and those who have had so much patince for me to resurface here!! I couldn't do this without you!

Hello,

I’ve had a few questions and requests, the only way I know how to help right now is this.....

With everything happening in the world, I thought I would write a post about taking your own newborn photos. Please remember that with everything going on right now, we would be putting your family at risk by continuing to do sessions, and in turn, you would also be putting our families at risk as well. Everyone needs to do their part right now so we can keep as many people safe and healthy as we can!

For all of you mamas that are unable to have a photographer at your birth or fresh 48, here are some helpful hints for you to take great photos on your phone or with your own camera!

-Take them during the day when there is plenty of window light.

-TURN OFF the hospital lights! Use the window light only, if you can!

-Position your baby facing the light coming through the window.

-Don't shoot towards the window. Shoot with the window to your side or to your back, but be careful not to block the light coming through!

- Don't photograph aiming up the babies nose. Shoot down, from above or the side of the baby.

- Get close! Thats where the details are! Fresh skin and tiny fingers and toes are important!

-Download the Lightroom App on your phone and edit your photos there!

Saw this on another photographers page this morning and thought it was a great idea!

I wanted to also add:

Ask your nurse to swaddle the baby for you. NURSES ARE THE BEST SWADDLERS!

TAG your expecting mama friends!
