I See You Spousal Retreat

I See You Spousal Retreat Small, grass roots retreat for spouses of first responders and military, diagnosed with a Post Traumatic Stress Injury. Held in Ontario Canada.

06/07/2026

PTSD Awareness Month is important—but for us, PTSD awareness isn't something that begins and ends in June. It's something we live with every single day.

As an organization founded by four Paramedics, and dedicated to serving first responders, we understand that trauma doesn't follow a calendar. The battles many carry are fought year-round, often silently, and far too often alone.

Every time someone wears our logo, they're doing more than representing a brand. They're helping create visibility. They're helping start conversations. They're sending a message without saying a word.

Because when you see our logo, you know. You know there's someone nearby who understands.Someone who gets it.Someone who won't judge.Someone who knows what it's like to carry the weight of the job long after the shift ends.

That unspoken connection creates something powerful: a safe space. A reminder that no one has to face these struggles alone.

Every purchase made through our organization helps fund PTSD support initiatives and su***de prevention programs for first responders. Not just this month. Every month. Every day.

Because awareness matters.

But action saves lives.

To everyone carrying burdens they don't often talk about: we see you, we support you, and you are never alone. 💜🩵

See below for the important fundraiser to support the London Stabilization Unit.

These dedicated beds are for First Responders in Crisis. Why are these beds so important, see below:

Between 2016 and 2018, several members of the London and area PTSD support group avoided seeking help at London Health Sciences Centre emergency departments during crises because they feared being placed in mental health rooms where fellow officers might encounter them while on duty. In 2018, the issue was brought to the London Police Association, which formed a committee to address the concern, but progress stalled in bureaucracy.

Tragically, in 2021, Constable Omar Hassan died by su***de after reportedly avoiding access to care for the same reasons. Following renewed efforts, two dedicated first responder crisis beds were established through Canadian Mental Health Association at 648 Huron Street, and the upcoming fundraiser is intended to help keep those beds operational.

Behind the Line is ONE WEEK away!

If we want to support first responders—
👉 we have to support what’s waiting for them at home.
Because the job doesn’t just affect the responder…
it affects the entire family system.

🚨 First responder families are part of the system—
but often left out of the support.
A recent study examining first responder families highlights something we don’t talk about enough:
👉 the impact of this work extends far beyond the individual.

🧠 What the research found:
Families reported four major areas of impact:
• Missing out / time away
• Household strain and shifting roles
• Mental health challenges
• Positive aspects like pride and meaning

💡 Key insight:
Families aren’t just observers of the job—
👉 they are directly affected by it.
They experience:
• emotional strain
• disruption in routines
• stress tied to the demands of the profession

⚠️ But it’s not only negative:
Families also reported:
✔️ pride in service
✔️ resilience
✔️ a sense of purpose

🛡️ What the research calls for:
👉 Family-centered support systems
Including:
• mental health resources for families
• peer support opportunities
• organizational practices that recognize family impact

👉 The takeaway:
If we want to support first responders—
👉 we have to support what’s waiting for them at home.
Because the job doesn’t just affect the responder…
it affects the entire family system.
