After weeks of scarecrows taking over our community, the big day is finally here! Join us TODAY, Friday, October 2, for the Meaford Scarecrow Parade & Family Festival as we celebrate our 30th anniversary and this year’s theme, Peace, Love & Happiness! ✌️❤️😊

🥧 APPLE PIE CONTEST
Pie intake is from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Christ Church Anglican, 34 Boucher St. E. The contest is open to Grey County residents, and there’s no need to pre-register!

🎉 SCARECROW PARADE
The parade kicks off at 6:00 PM in Downtown Meaford along Sykes Street. Come early, find a great viewing spot and get ready to cheer on our amazing parade participants!

🎪 FREE FAMILY FESTIVAL
The fun continues at 6:30 PM at the Meaford Rotary Harbour Pavilion, with free children’s activities, food, entertainment, vendors and, of course, apple pie! The festival runs until 8:30 PM.

🚧 ROAD CLOSURES & PARKING REMINDER
Please plan ahead if you’re coming downtown today:

• No parking on Sykes Street between Collingwood and Trowbridge Streets after 3:00 PM
• No parking on Bayfield Street between Sykes and Collingwood after 3:00 PM
• No parking on Collingwood Street East after 3:00 PM
• Fred R***r Park parking lot closes after 3:00 PM
• Sykes Street between Cook Street and Berry Street closes at approximately 5:30 PM
• Vehicles cannot enter or leave the Meaford Hall parking lot between 5:45 and 6:45 PM
• Market Square and other downtown lots along the parade route will not be accessible while the parade is underway

🚗 Parking is available at the Harbour, Meaford & St. Vincent Community Centre and surrounding side streets outside the parade route.

Grab the family, wear your best Peace, Love & Happiness gear and come celebrate 30 years of the Meaford Scarecrow Invasion! 🌻✌️❤️
